Week 11 of the college football season brings several prominent games to follow. Though there are only two contests between ranked opponents, there are several others that will have a major impact on both individual conference championship game races and the wider scramble for the 12-team College Football Playoff.
For instance, No. 8 Indiana can take a huge step towards the postseason and continue its unprecedented season Saturday against Michigan. Though the Wolverines are having a difficult year, a potential win against the reigning national champions would resonate for Indiana.
No. 16 Ole Miss faces a make-or-break game against No. 3 Georgia. The Rebels have already suffered two losses, including one inexplicable slip-up against Kentucky, and cannot afford anymore pitfalls if they want to keep their College Football Playoff hopes alive. Beating the Bulldogs would firmly vault them back into the crowded playoff pack, at the very least.
Speaking of potential playoff elimination games, No. 14 LSU hosts No. 11 Alabama Saturday night. Both traditional SEC powers already have two losses, though the Tigers are 3-1 in SEC play and, thus, still have a decent shot at the SEC Championship Game. In similar fashion to Ole Miss, and given the crowded group vying for a spot in the College Football Playoff, neither the Tigers nor the Tide could handle a third loss at this point.
CBS Sports will keep you updated as all of the action unfolds throughout another important day of college football.
