Five-star defensive lineman Elijah Griffin Friday afternoon. The announcement took place at a live commitment ceremony at Georgia’s Savannah Christian Prep High School. The in-state product chose the Bulldogs over fellow finalists USC and Miami.
Griffin is the No. 1 defensive lineman and the No. 4 overall prospect in the class of 2025.
“Honestly just seeing the whole D-line in action and how I felt I could relate to everybody in that D-line room and how I felt like I’m capable of fitting in that system and what the standard in that building is. It’s something set at a high level, and that’s something I want to be a part of, a winning program,” Griffin told 247Sports. “I’m just testing my courage by going to the University of Georgia because it’s not going to be easy. It’s definitely not going to be easy, and I know that. At the end of the day, this game is a business, and I want to take advantage of whatever I can.”
Griffin took official visits to Miami and USC over the summer. He was one Georgia’s campus the weekend of Oct. 12 to take in the fifth-ranked Bulldogs’ 41-31 win against Mississippi State.
Griffin is the third five-star defender to commit to Georgia during the 2025 cycle and second along the defensive line. The Bulldogs also hold pledges from EDGE Isaiah Gibson (the No. 10 overall prospect) and linebacker Zayden Walker (the No. 18 overall prospect). Gibson and Walker are both the top-ranked players at their respective positions.
Of the seven top-100 recruits committed to Georgia, five play on the defensive side of the ball and three play high school football in the state of Georgia.
