The Giants made the following moves ahead of their international meeting with the Carolina Panthers on Sunday…
Graham Gano activated from IR
After the Giants officially opened the 21-day return window for kicker Graham Gano on Wednesday, the team officially activated the veteran kicker for Sunday’s Week 10 matchup.
Daboll said earlier this week that the veteran kicked well, putting him in good shape to be activated for Sunday’s game.
Gano has been sidelined since suffering a hamstring injury on the opening kickoff during a Week 2 loss to the Washington Commanders.
Big Blue has gone through numerous replacements with the veteran sidelined, including rookie Jude McAtamney, who drilled a 31-yard field goal and went 1-for-1 on extra points in his NFL debut last week.
On another special teams note, with punter Jamie Gillian likely to return from an injury of his own, the Giants have added the recently released Matt Haack to their practice squad.
Both Haack and McAtamney traveled with the team.
Giants practice squad elevations
The Giants announced they have elevated WR Isaiah Hodgins and LB Curtis Bolton from the practice squad. Hodgins has spent the last three seasons with the Giants but has only appeared in two games this year. In that time, Hodgins has one reception (on one target) for five yards.
As for Bolton, this will be the first game he’s appeared in for the Giants after spending the last two seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders. Last season, Bolton played in 13 games where he made eight tackles (seven solo).
Darius Slayton unlikely to travel
Slayton missed practice on Wednesday as he deals with a concussion sustained late in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s loss to the Commanders, and things aren’t looking promising for his playing chances this week.
Big Blue officially takes off for Munich on Thursday night, and Daboll said that it’s unlikely that Slayton will make the trip.
Slayton has remained a consistent piece for Big Blue’s offense even after they added first-round rookie Malik Nabers to the mix, topping the 50-yard mark in five of his nine appearances this season.
If the veteran can’t go on Sunday, second-year receiver Jalin Hyatt would likely see an increased role on Sunday against the lowly Panthers secondary.
