Here is the latest news and possible return dates for Giants players…
Jan. 17, 3:48 p.m.
With a short week ahead of Saturday’s matchup in Philadelphia, the Giants held a walkthrough on Tuesday, as they operate on their usual Wednesday schedule.
Head coach Brian Daboll said Tuesday morning that the Giants are “heading in the right direction” on the injury front, with DB Jason Pinnock (abdomen) improving. Pinnock was a full participant on Tuesday. Edge rusher Azeez Ojulari (quad), meanwhile, was limited, as were DB/LB Landon Collins (ankle), WR Isaiah Hodgins (ankle), DB Adoree’ Jackson (back), DB Julian Love (hamstring), and DB Fabian Moreau (hip).
“Everybody will be doing something today,” said Daboll. “It’s a walkthrough, but if it wasn’t, everybody would be doing something. I think Pinnock’s turned a corner pretty quick here. Azeez will still be limited, a couple other little bumps and bruises, but hopefully heading in the right direction.”
Jan. 16, 12:15 p.m.
Speaking to reporters via Zoom on Monday afternoon, head coach Brian Daboll said the team will go “day-to-day” with Azeez Ojulari and Jason Pinnock who left the game against the Minnesota Vikings due to injuries.
After the game, both Ojulari and Pinnock seemed better than expected and Daboll appeared to confirm that assessment on Monday, saying “We’re in good shape after a tough game. Nothing out of the ordinary.”
Jan. 15, 8:53 p.m.
Not only did the Giants come out of Minneapolis with a playoff win, but it sounds like they came out of the game still fairly healthy as well.
Both Azeez Ojulari and Jason Pinnock left the 31-24 win over the Vikings, with Pinnock needing to be carted off.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Ojulari suffered a quad injury when he was kneed in the thigh, and while he will undergo further testing, he was walking “without much of a limp” after the game, which could be a good sign.
Pinnock suffered an abdominal injury while making a special teams tackle, and while he had to be carted off and eventually went to the hospital, he was back in the Giants’ locker room after the game and said “he’s good,” according to ESPN’s Jordan Raanan.
Jan. 14, 12:44 p.m.
The Giants added Isaiah Hodgins to the injury report for the Wild Card matchup Sunday at 4:30 p.m. against the Vikings in Minnesota.
The wide receiver has an ankle injury but does not have a status designation of questionable or probable — he is simply expected to play, the team said.
In eight games with the Giants this season, Hodgins caught 33 passes for 351 yards (10.6 average) and four touchdowns. He had 89 yards on eight catches and a touchdown in the Week 16 loss at Minnesota.
Jan. 13, 2:35 p.m.
Everyone was a full participant at practice Friday for the Giants, as the team’s injury report is empty heading into their Wild Card matchup against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.
OL Jon Feliciano (back), CB Adoree’ Jackson (knee), WR Marcus Johnson (knee), safety Xavier McKinney (fingers), OL Evan Neal (ankle), LB Azeez Ojulari (ankle), DB Jason Pinnock (shoulder) and DL Leonard Williams (neck) all practiced fully on Friday and will be available on Sunday.
Head coach Brian Daboll expressed optimism earlier Friday that both Jackson and Neal would be healthy to play after they practiced on Wednesday and Thursday.
Jan. 13, 11:15 a.m.
Head coach Brian Daboll spoke to reporters Friday ahead of the team’s Wild Card Game on Sunday, and said that Adoree’ Jackson (knee) is “moving in the right direction” towards playing against the Minnesota Vikings.
“He did good, he did good,” Daboll said. “Get him another day out here and hopefully it’s moving in the right direction.”
“Hope so, yeah,” Daboll said about Jackson’s chances to suit up on Sunday.
Jackson was limited in practice for the second straight day on Thursday, as the corner has missed the last seven games since suffering the injury on Nov. 20 against the Detroit Lions.
Daboll added that Evan Neal will be “alright” after being added to the injury report with an ankle injury. The first-year head coach did not seemed concerned about Neal’s status for Sunday’s playoff game.
Jan. 13, 9:46 a.m.
Evan Neal, who was added to the injury report on Thursday due to an ankle injury, should be good to play against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, reports Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.
Per Rapoport, Neal — who was a limited participant on Thursday — suffered a minor ankle injury during practice.
Jan. 12, 3:47 p.m.
Adoree’ Jackson (knee), Leonard Williams (neck), and Azeez Ojulari (ankle) all practiced on a limited basis for the second straight day on Thursday.
Head coach Brian Daboll said earlier this week that he’s “encouraged” by the progress that has been made by Jackson and Ojulari.
Meanwhile, Xavier McKinney (fingers) and Jon Feliciano (back) were full participants, and Evan Neal (ankle) was limited.
Jackson hasn’t played since Week 11, but has been practicing on a limited basis the last few weeks.
Williams and Ojulari — who both played in the Giants’ playoff-clinching Week 17 win over the Indianapolis Colts — were held out of New York’s regular season finale against the Philadelphia Eagles as they rested most of their starters in what was a meaningless game for the Giants as far as playoff seeding went.
It seems that all of the players currently on the injury report have a strong chance to play when the Giants face the Vikings in Minnesota in the Wild Card round on Sunday.
Jan. 6, 11:19 a.m.
Giants head coach Brian Daboll said on Friday that Azeez Ojulari and Leonard Williams will be the only two players “definitely” out on Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Meanwhile, Adoree’ Jackson is listed as doubtful, while Jon Feliciano is questionable.
As for his other starters playing or not, Daboll maintained that he will do what’s best for the team but also mentioned that everything is on the table and that he and GM Joe Schoen will discuss on Friday night what they want to do.
Jan. 5, 3:44 p.m.
Jon Feliciano (back) returned to Giants practice on Thursday on a limited basis.
Adoree’ Jackson (knee) continued to be limited.
Jackson practiced on a limited basis last week and appeared to be ahead of Xavier McKinney as far as his return date, but Jackson was out for the Giants’ playoff-clinching win over the Indianapolis Colts last Sunday while McKinney played.
Meanwhile, Leonard Williams (neck), and Azeez Ojulari (ankle) remained out, while Dexter Lawrence (who received a rest day on Wednesday) was a full participant.
Ojulari played just seven snaps during the Giants’ win over the Colts, while Williams and Feliciano had a more regular workload.
Head coach Brian Daboll reiterated on Wednesday that the Giants, who clinched a playoff spot when they beat the Colts and are locked into the No. 6 seed in the NFC, will do what’s best for the team in Week 18 against the Philadelphia Eagles when it comes to playing their starters or not.
The Eagles will clinch the No. 1 seed in the NFC, the NFC East title, and a first-round bye with a win, but will lose the NFC East and drop all the way to the No. 5 seed if they lose and the Dallas Cowboys defeat the Washington Commanders.
Dec. 31, 4:55 p.m.
The Giants activated safety Xavier McKinney from the non-football injury list Saturday afternoon ahead of their crucial Week 17 game against the Indianapolis Colts.
McKinney has missed the last seven games due to a hand injury and has not played since Oct. 30 against the Seattle Seahawks. The Giants opened his 21-day window to return on Thursday, but head coach Brian Daboll did not seem confident at the time that McKinney would be ready to go for Sunday’s game.
Additionally, the Giants released WR David Sills in a corresponding move. Sills has been with the Giants since 2019 either on the active roster or practice squad, and made 11 receptions for 106 yards this year over nine games (five starts).
Tight end Chris Myarick and defensive back Zyon Gilbert were also both elevated from the practice squad for Sunday’s game.
Dec. 31, 3:00 p.m.
The Giants are reportedly expected to activate safety Xavier McKinney from the non-football injury list prior to Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts, according to multiple reports.
New York appears to have changed their plans from Friday afternoon.
Head coach Brian Daboll said prior to practice Friday morning that McKinney probably would not be able to suit up this week. However, the medical team gave him the clearance he needed and he took some reps with the first team later on in the day.
The Giants appear to be comfortable enough to activate him ahead of Sunday afternoon’s win-and-in contest.
McKinney has been out since injuring his hand in an ATV accident in Cabo during the team’s bye week. He was forced to undergo surgery and missed a total of seven games. New York went 2-4-1 and allowed 26 points per game over that span.
Getting the captain back out there would be a huge boost for the Big Blue defense. McKinney made 38 tackles and had a forced fumble, one sack, and four passes defended over the first seven games of the season.
Dec. 30, 2:38 p.m.
Cornerback Adoree’ Jackson (knee) is doubtful for the Giants’ Week 17 game against the Indianapolis Colts, New York announced.
Hours earlier, Giants head coach Brian Daboll told reporters that Jackson would be a game-time decision for the 1 p.m. kickoff Sunday at MetLife Stadium.
“He’ll do some more stuff today,” Daboll said of Jackson. “We’ll take it right up to the end. He’s really the only guy we’ll take right up to the end. Everybody else should be ready to go.”
Outside linebacker Azeez Ojulari (ankle) is questionable.
Dec. 30, 11:17 a.m.
Outside linebacker Azeez Ojulari (ankle) and defensive end Leonard Williams (neck) are “good to go” for Week 17 against the Indianapolis Colts, while cornerback Adoree’ Jackson (knee) and safety Xavier McKinney (hand) remain to be seen.
Giants head coach Brian Daboll told reporters Friday that Jackson is a game-time decision for the 1 p.m. kickoff Sunday at MetLife Stadium and said McKinney would “probably not” play.
Jackson is going to “go right up to the end” and McKinney “moved around well” Thursday, Daboll added.
“I’d say that yesterday was kind of the first step of getting him back out there,” Daboll said of McKinney. “I thought he moved around well. Conditioning, I thought, was good. Obviously, hasn’t played a game in a while. I’d probably say probably not this week, but he looked good up there.”
“We’ll see where that is,” Daboll added, when asked about McKinney ramping up for Week 18 at the Philadelphia Eagles. “But we’ll say probably not right now.”
Dec. 29, 2:47 p.m.
The Giants have activated safety Xavier McKinney‘s 21-day window to return from IR, as he was back on the practice field on Thursday.
McKinney was placed on the Reserve/Non-Football Injury list on Nov. 7 after suffering a hand injury during a sightseeing ATV tour in Cabo over the team’s bye week. McKinney has missed the last seven games due to the injury.
McKinney was seen wearing a “contraption” on his hand, as Brian Daboll called it, and was scheduled to work with the scout team.
After practice, McKinney said that he is “trying to” play on Sunday vs. the Colts, that his hand is not at risk for further injury and that he feels no additional pain.
Daboll added that “there’s a chance” for McKinney and Adoree’ Jackson (knee) to play on Sunday against the Indianapolis. Jackson was limited in practice for a second consecutive day, as was Azeez Ojulari (ankle). Leonard Williams (neck) was also limited in practice, while Dexter Lawrence (not injury related/rest) was a full participant on Thursday.
Dec. 28, 12:26 p.m.
A pair of key Giants defenders will be able to practice on Wednesday, albeit on a limited bases.
Head coach Brian Daboll told reporters that outside linebacker Azeez Ojulari (ankle) and corner Adoree’ Jackson (knee) will be on the practice field, though both players will be limited.
Ojulari has played in each of the past four games after missing most of the season with a calf injury, but he left Saturday’s matchup with the Vikings with an ankle injury. Jackson hasn’t played since Nov. 20.
Meanwhile, G Shane Lemieux will be placed on IR for the second time this season. The lineman played just one game this season after only playing one game in 2021 as well.
Additionally, the Giants announced they signed former first-round pick LB Jarrad Davis from the Detroit Lions’ practice squad. The move comes a day after LB Tae Crowder was signed off their own practice squad by the Pittsburgh Steelers. Davis played for the Lions from 2017 to 2020, recording 308 combined tackles, 10.5 sacks, seven forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and an interception over 58 games (45 starts). He played nine games for the Jets in 2021 and then re-joined the Lions this season, playing in only three games.
Dec. 26, 12:52 p.m.
Giants head coach Brian Daboll was asked Monday about the injury statuses of outside linebacker Azeez Ojulari (ankle), safety Xavier McKinney (hand) and cornerback Adoree’ Jackson (knee) entering Week 17 against the Indianapolis Colts.
“No, I’d say normal bumps and bruises,” Daboll said of Ojulari. “I think Azeez has gotten treatment the last couple days. We’ll see where he’s at (Tuesday, Wednesday), all the way through Friday and we’ll see if he’s able to go. We really haven’t done anything these last couple of days, so we’ll see.”
“I think he’s improved from where he was,” Daboll added. “We’ll go here these next couple days and see where he’s at.”
Ojulari left Sunday’s 27-24 loss at the Minnesota Vikings and did not return.
Daboll did not divulge into McKinney’s status but explained that Jackson was progressing.
“X — I don’t have enough to give to you,” Daboll said of McKinney. “I think Adoree’s making progress in the right direction. Again, where that is, I think we’ll see by the end of the week. But definitely, he’s making progress.”
“Yep, we’ll see by the end of the week,” Daboll added, when asked about Jackson’s status for Sunday’s 1 p.m. kickoff at MetLife Stadium. “Yep.”
After a follow-up question about the practice status of Jackson for this week, Daboll elaborated on the cornerback who has not played since Nov. 20 against the Detroit Lions.
“I’d say we’ll see on that,” Daboll said of if Jackson would practice this week. “Again, each week he’s gotten progressively better. (Tuesday) will be a walkthrough. So we’ll see where he’s at with the trainers and stuff, the rehabbing that he’s doing and then by the end of the week we’ll see. Maybe he will be, maybe he won’t.
“I think it’s too early to give you that answer.”
Dec. 24, 2:37 p.m.
During the first half of the Giants’ game against the Minnesota Vikings, Azeez Ojulari was forced to leave the field with an ankle injury and did not return following halftime. Shortly after, he was downgraded to out and will not return to the contest.
Ojulari, who had a sack before exiting the game, has 5.5 sacks in just six games this season.
The linebacker missed time earlier this season with a calf injury that put him on IR, but returned three weeks ago. Since his return, the Giants rank second in the NFL in sacks, behind just the Philadelphia Eagles.
Dec. 22, 3:04 p.m.
The Giants will be without CB Adoree’ Jackson (knee) and OL Shane Lemieux (toe) for Saturday’s game in Minnesota against the Vikings.
All other players who were limited at times this week during practice, including LB Kayvon Thibodeaux, DL Leonard Williams, OT Evan Neal, TE Nick Vannett, and WR Isaiah Hodgins, are expected to play.
While Jackson isn’t ready to return, he is making progress and could possibly be back for Week 17 when the Giants host the Indianapolis Colts.
Dec. 20, 1:00 p.m.
Giants head coach Brian Daboll spoke with reporters on Tuesday to provide an update on two key defensive backs.
S Xavier McKinney will not return to practice this week as he recovers from a hand injury. Daboll is also uncertain as to whether or not CB Adoree’ Jackson (knee) will participate in practice.
The New York secondary faces a tough task to defend Minnesota Vikings receivers Justin Jefferson (league-best 1,623 yards), Adam Thielen and T.J. Hockenson on Saturday.
Dec. 19, 8:55 p.m.
Giants head coach Brian Daboll fielded a few injury inquiries a day after the team’s 20-12 win over the Commanders in Washington.
Daboll was asked about tight end Nick Vannett getting X-rays and if any other players exited with noteworthy injuries, namely cornerbacks Darnay Holmes and Fabian Morneau.
“I have not met with any of the doctors yet,” Daboll said. “So, Vannett had a shoulder. Hopefully, he’ll be OK. But my meeting with the doctors and trainers will be later today. So, I think, for the most part, I haven’t heard. You go back on the train, and you talk a little bit to (senior vice president, medical services/head athletic trainer) Ronnie (Barnes) and to the medical people.
“I think we should be in good shape.”
Offensive lineman Ben Bredeson returned to action and left Daboll pleased.
“I thought there were some good things in there,” Daboll said. “We rotated him and (center Nick) Gates. We gave Gates the first couple series rather than just throwing him in there. I think they’ve both earned playing time. I think both of them had a good game. (Bredeson) had that long drive. He was in there on that 18-play drive, too. So, it was good to have him back and plug him in there.”
The Giants (8-5-1) have a shorter turnaround than usual as a Saturday matchup at the Minnesota Vikings (11-3) looms for Week 16.
Dec. 18, 7:15 p.m.
The Giants have seven inactive players for Week 15 at the Washington Commanders, but Leonard Williams is not one of them.
While a neck injury limited the defensive lineman in practice all week and entered the game with a “questionable” status, Williams is active.
Tight end Daniel Bellinger (rib) and cornerback Nick McCloud (illness), who were also limited and questionable, are also good to go.
Cornerback Adoree’ Jackson (knee) offensive linemen Shane Lemieux (toe) are out.
Quarterback Davis Webb, wide receiver David Sills, cornerback Rodarius Williams, linebacker Tae Crowder and offensive lineman Jack Anderson round out the seven inactive players.
Dec. 16, 3:30 p.m.
The Giants will be without three players Sunday night in Washington as offensive lineman Josh Ezeudu (neck), defensive back Adoree’ Jackson (knee) and linebacker Shane Lemieux (toe) have all been ruled out.
After clearing concussion protocol, wide receiver Richie James and linebacker Jihad Ward, who were limited participants in Thursday’s practice, were both able to be full participants on Friday and are no longer listed as questionable.
Three other players were also listed as questionable after being limited in practice Friday: tight end Daniel Bellinger (rib); cornerback Nick McCloud (illness); and defensive lineman Leonard Williams (neck).
Dec. 15, 4:00 p.m.
While speaking with reporters following Thursday afternoon’s practice, Giants running back Saquon Barkley said that he’s feeling ‘way better’ following a neck injury that left him limited during last week’s game against the Eagles.
Barkley, who logged a full practice both today and Wednesday said he doesn’t expect to have a limited workload in Sunday night’s crucial matchup against the Washington Commanders.
Additionally, wide receiver Richie James and defensive end Jihad Ward returned to practice on Thursday afternoon after clearing concussion protocol. Both appear to be trending in the right direction for Sunday night.
On a less positive note, linebacker Elerson Smith has been placed on injured reserve with an Achilles injury. He will undergo surgery for a nagging bone spur by his Achilles/heel next week, ending his season, according to Dan Duggan of The Athletic.
The 2021 fourth round draft pick has appeared in five games this season. He’s logged just two tackles on the year but blocked a punt in Sunday’s loss to Philly.
Dec. 14, 1:10 p.m.
The Giants got some good injury news on Wednesday, with Daniel Bellinger and Leonard Williams both practicing on a limited basis.
Bellinger exited last week’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles with a rib injury, and Williams didn’t play because of a neck injury.
Additionally, Saquon Barkley, whose workload was limited during last Sunday’s game due to a neck injury, was a full participant on Wednesday.
There was also some not great injury news, as Adoree’ Jackson (knee) remained out of practice and Xavier McKinney (hand) was ruled out for the Giants’ Week 15 matchup against the Washington Commanders.
Richie James (concussion), Jihad Ward (concussion), Shane Lemieux (toe), and Josh Ezedu (neck) also didn’t practice. However, both James and Ward were running on the side, meaning they could possibly be cleared to play against Washington.
Dec. 12, 1:24 p.m.
Daniel Bellinger, who left Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles after injuring his ribs and was eventually ruled out, is sore, head coach Brian Daboll said on Monday.
If Bellinger is unable to play in Week 15 against the Washington Commanders, Lawrence Cager — who was inactive against the Eagles — would almost certainly be active.
Also on the injury front, WR Richie James was in the concussion protocol on Monday.
Additionally, Daboll noted that it’s too soon to evaluate the potential Week 15 availability of Leonard Williams, Adoree’ Jackson, and Xavier McKinney, who all missed the Eagles game.
Dec. 11, 5:20 p.m.
Saquon Barkley was healthy enough to play against the Eagles on Sunday, but he was limited to just 28 yards on nine carries. Still, Barkley said he has “no doubt” he’ll be ready to play against the Washington Commanders on Sunday night.
It was reported that Barkley underwent an MRI late this week for a neck injury, which he said was a stinger following Sunday’s 48-22 loss.
Despite Sunday’s limited performance, Barkley has rushed for 1,083 yards this season in what’s been a tremendous bounce-back year for the Penn State product.
Dec. 11, 11:35 a.m.
Running back Saquon Barkley popped up on the Giants injury report late in the week with a neck injury, but he will play in Sunday’s game against the Eagles.
The Giants announced their group of inactive players for Sunday, and Barkley’s name was not on the list. The running back under went an MRI late this week and had been listed as questionable, but he will give it a go.
On the other side of the ball, the Giants will be without Leonard Williams, making them shorthanded up front.
Dec. 10, 4:45 p.m.
The Giants won’t be activating offensive lineman Ben Bredeson from injured reserve ahead of Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles, according to Art Stapleton of NorthJersey.com.
Bredeson returned to practice ahead of last week’s game against the Washington Commanders. He turned in a full week of practice this week and head coach Brian Daboll seemed optimistic about the veteran guard’s chances of returning.
Despite that, Bredeson will now miss his sixth straight game as he works his way back from a knee injury.
The Giants will likely run out the same offensive line as last week with Andrew Thomas at LT, Nick Gates at LG, John Feliciano at C, Mark Golwinski at RG, and Evan Neal at RT.
Additionally, New York elevated defensive lineman Ryder Anderson and defensive back Zyon Gilbert from the practice squad.
The fact that they didn’t elevate a running back could bode well for Saquon Barkley’s chances of taking the field after he showed up on the injury report late in the week with a neck injury.
On Friday, Daboll told reporters he is hopeful the star would be able to play.
Dec. 9, 2:29 p.m.
RB Saquon Barkley (neck) is questionable and DL Leonard Williams (neck) is doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
OL Josh Ezedu (neck), DB Adoree’ Jackson (knee), and OL Shane Lemieux (toe) are all out.
Head coach Brian Daboll said Friday that Barkley’s neck is “sore,” but told reporters he is hopeful the star will play Sunday.
Barkley first appeared on the injury report Thursday after he was limited in practice.
The former No. 2 overall pick has played in all 12 games this season, rushing 242 times for 1,055 yards with eight touchdowns plus 40 receptions for 241 yards.
Dec. 8, 1:29 p.m.
As the Giants prepare to face the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, DL Leonard Williams (neck) and CB Adoree’ Jackson (knee) were still not practicing.
Both Williams and Jackson were suited up, but off to the side during practice, per Dan Duggan of The Athletic.
Meanwhile, Xavier McKinney had the pins removed from his injured hand, but head coach Brian Daboll was unsure when McKinney would return — and if he would be back at all this season.
Speaking to reporters on Monday, Daboll explained that it’s “too early to tell” if the Giants will open up McKinney’s 21-day practice window this week, adding that playing with a club on his left hand is not an option.
McKinney was placed on IR on Nov. 7 following a hand injury that occurred when he got into an ATV accident during the Giants’ bye week.
Dec. 5, 1:46 p.m.
Safety Xavier McKinney is eligible to return to practice this week now that he’s missed four games on IR, but head coach Brian Daboll doesn’t sound overly optimistic about that being the case.
Getting McKinney back, though it sounds unlikely, would provide a nice boost for the Giants as they prepare to host the NFC East-leading Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday afternoon.
Dec. 4, 11: 52 a.m.
The Giants announced their inactives for Sunday’s NFC East matchup with the Commanders, and the list included some surprises.
Kenny Golladay, who has been dealing with an illness, was a late add to the injury report this week and is now officially inactive. Other notable inactives include tight end Lawrence Cager, who had been starting in place of Daniel Bellinger the last couple of weeks. Bellinger is officially active and set to make his return following an eye injury.
On the defensive side, while Azeez Ojulari is active and slated to make his return, the Giants will be without a couple of cornerbacks. Adoree’ Jackson had already been ruled out with a knee injury, and fellow corner Darnay Holmes is also inactive due to a shoulder injury.
Dec. 3, 4:58 p.m.
Outside linebacker Azeez Ojulari (calf) and safety Tony Jefferson (foot) have been activated from the injured reserve prior to Sunday’s game against the Washington Commanders, the Giants announced.
Ojulari has only played in two games this season and last played Oct. 2 in the Giants’ win over the Chicago Bears. He was then placed on the IR on Oct. 22. The second-year OLB said last week that he expected to be back against Washington.
Jefferson injured his foot against the Green bay Packers in London on Oct. 9 and was placed on the IR on Oct. 15. The 10-year veteran has made five tackles over three games this season.
Additionally, the Giants elevated DT Vernon Butler and DB Zyon Gilbert from the practice squad, signed TE Nick Vannett off the practice squad, and waived TE Tanner Hudson.
Dec. 3, 12:38 p.m.
Wide receiver Kenny Golladay (illness) and offensive lineman Mark Glowinski (back) have been added to the injury report and are listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Washington Commanders, the team announced.
Golladay has made just four receptions over the seven games he’s played this season. He made two catches in Week 11 against the Detroit Lions, but then had zero receptions or targets against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 12.
Glowinski has played in and started all 11 games this season at right guard after signing a three-year, $20 million deal with the team over the offseason. The 30-year-old previously played three seasons for the Seattle Seahawks and four seasons with the Indianapolis Colts before signing with New York.
Dec. 2, 11:13 a.m.
Giants head coach Brian Daboll is hopeful that WR Darius Slayton, who is dealing with an illness, will be able to play on Sunday against the Washington Commanders.
Slayton did not practice on Friday after the Giants were off on Thursday.
In the event Slayton is unable to go, the Giants — who could possibly get TE Daniel Bellinger back on Sunday — will be even more depleted than usual at receiver.
Their options without Slayton would likely be Kenny Golladay, Richie James (who was on the injury report earlier this week), and Isaiah Hodgins.
Nov. 30, 3:58 p.m.
Cor’Dale Flott was back at practice on Wednesday after being cleared from concussion protocol.
Flott participated in a limited basis, but was designated as non-contact.
Also participating on a limited basis were Daniel Bellinger and Jon Feliciano, who could both return against the Washington Commanders on Sunday.
Evan Neal practiced in full, leaving little doubt as to his status ahead of Sunday’s game.
Nov. 29, 3:10 p.m.
Daniel Bellinger says the double vision is gone as he gets closer to returning to the field after sustaining a fractured eye socket.
Speaking to reporters Tuesday, the tight end said his eye feels good and feels confident he could play now, but he is “still taking it day-by-day.”
Free safety Xavier McKinney had the cast removed from his left hand. His hand was severely swollen and still has several pins in the back of it, beneath his knuckles, according to the New York Daily News’ Pat Leonard.
McKinney told ESPN’s Jordan Raanan he expects to return this season. The safety is eligible to return from injured reserve after Sunday’s game against Washington.
Tackle Evan Neal said he was a full participant in practice Tuesday. He added it “felt good to be back out there” and he did not feel any lingering effects from his injury.
Nov. 29, 12:19 p.m.
Giants head coach Brian Daboll said on Tuesday that tight end Daniel Bellinger is “trending in the right direction” to return on Sunday against the Washington Commanders, adding that he’s “optimistic” about Bellinger’s chances.
Bellinger has been out since getting poked in the eye on Oct. 23 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, and said last week that his double vision was “nearly gone” and that he’s been catching passes while getting used to the new visor he’s wearing.
In addition to Bellinger, the Giants could get a host of other key players back against Washington, including tackle Evan Neal (knee), outside linebacker Azeez Ojulari (calf), and guard Ben Bredeson (knee).
Ojulari, who last played on Oct. 2 in the Giants’ win over the Chicago Bears, and Bredeson were designated to return from IR on Monday. Ojulari said last week that he expected to be back against Washington.
The players not practicing on Tuesday were G Shane Lemieux (toe), G Josh Ezeudu (neck), and CB Adoree’ Jackson (knee).
Jackson is expected to be out for another two-to-four weeks.
Nov. 28, 1:40 p.m.
The Giants announced some positive news on the injury front, designating outside linebacker Azeez Ojulari (calf), guard Ben Bredeson (knee) and DB Tony Jefferson (foot) to return from injured reserve.
By designating this trio to return, all three players can begin practicing with Big Blue without being activated to the 53-man roster. The Giants will have 21 days to either officially activate them or place the players back on IR for the remainder of the season.
Getting a key piece like Ojulari back would certainly provide a big boost for the Giants as they prepare for a pivotal matchup with the Washington Commanders on Sunday. The 2021 second-round pick has played in just two games this season, totaling one sack.
Nov. 25, 6:38 p.m.
Brian Daboll was asked about the statuses of tight end Daniel Bellinger (eye), tackle Evan Neal (knee), guard Ben Bredeson (knee) and outside linebacker Azeez Ojulari entering the Giants’ game next Sunday against the Washington Commanders.
“Yeah, I think all those guys are improving,” Daboll said on Friday’s Zoom call with reporters, a day after the Giants’ 28-20 loss at the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving. “They’ll have three good days of treatment here coming up. We’ll see where we’re at on Monday.
Ojulari (calf) has been on injured reserve since Oct. 22 and last played Oct. 2 in the Giants’ 20-12 win over the Chicago Bears.
Nov. 24, 7:45 p.m.
The injury bug has struck again for the already depleted Giants. The team announced that cornerback Cor’Dale Flott left Thursday’s game vs the Dallas Cowboys due to a concussion.
Flott stayed down and left the field with trainers after making a tackle on a completion to Dallas tight end Jake Ferguson. After heading to the locker room he was officially ruled out late in the fourth quarter.
Prior to leaving, the rookie cornerback made five tackles on the night.
Nov. 24, 3:25 p.m.
Left tackle Andrew Thomas (illness) is active for the Giants at the Dallas Cowboys.
So are the other four questionable players — returner Richie James (knee), right tackle Tyre Phillips (neck), defensive back Jason Pinnock (jaw) and free safety Dane Belton (collarbone).
Thomas playing gives the Giants a boost while fellow offensive linemen Evan Neal (knee), Josh Ezeudu (neck), Shane Lemieux (toe) and Jon Feliciano (neck) all out.
Cornerback Adoree’ Jackson (knee) and defensive back Fabian Moreau (oblique) and tight end Daniel Bellinger (eye) are also inactive.
Nov. 23, 12:36 p.m.
While head coach Brian Daboll said earlier in the week that most injured Giants would be “last-second” decisions, the team departed for Dallas on Wednesday without some key offensive linemen.
Offensive linemen Evan Neal, Jon Feliciano, Shane Lemieux and Joshua Ezeudu did not make the trip with the team, which will leave the Giants very shorthanded against a talented Cowboys defense.
Combined with the fact that the Giants are also shorthanded at receiver and will likely need to rely quite a bit on running the ball, being down a few linemen could be quite the challenge.
Nov. 22, 2:29 p.m.
The Giants could be getting two big pieces back after their Week 12 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys.
Both TE Daniel Bellinger and LB Azeez Ojulari are hoping to return in Week 13 against the Washington Commanders, they told Dan Duggan of The Athletic.
Bellinger, who has been out since getting poked in the eye on Oct. 23 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, said his double vision is “nearly gone” and that he’s been catching passes while getting used to the new visor he’s wearing.
Ojulari, who last played on Oct. 2 against the Chicago Bears and has been dealing with a calf injury, said he “definitely expects” to play in Week 13.
Nov. 22, 12:15 p.m.
Head coach Brian Daboll began his media availability by discussing the team’s injury situation heading into Thursday’s matchup with the Dallas Cowboys.
Per Daboll, TE Daniel Bellinger (eye) and CB Adoree’ Jackson (knee) have both been ruled out, taking away key players on both sides of the ball.
Daboll confirmed the team has signed TE Nick Vannett to the practice squad, giving the Giants a bit more depth at the position.
Meanwhile, all other players dealing with injuries, including T Evan Neal, C Jon Feliciano, and CB Fabian Moreau, among others, will be “last-second” decisions, according to the head coach.
Nov. 21, 9:48 a.m.
Rookie WR Wan’Dale Robinson has a torn ACL and is out for the season, head coach Brian Daboll told reporters on Monday.
A typical recovery time for a torn ACL is six-to-nine months.
Robinson went down on the sideline after a six-yard reception in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s loss to the Detroit Lions.
With Daniel Bellinger still out due to an eye injury, Sterling Shepard out for the season after tearing his ACL, and Kenny Golladay having struggled with injury and ineffectiveness for most of the season, Robinson had become one of Daniel Jones‘ favorite targets.
Before suffering his injury on Sunday, Robinson was having his best game as a pro, with nine catches for 100 yards.
Nov. 20, 3:37 p.m.
Cornerbacks Adoree’ Jackson (knee) and Fabian Moreau (rib), safety Jason Pinnock (jaw), center Jon Feliciano (neck) and right tackle Tyre Phillips (neck) were all injured during Sunday’s loss to the Detroit Lions.
“It happens in each game,” head coach Brian Daboll said of New York’s injuries. “I’ll get with the trainers after this and talk about it and come up with a plan on a short week. It’s what it is; there’s no excuses.”
Robinson recorded a career-high nine receptions for 100 yards, with a long of 19, before getting injured.
“Yeah, he looked like he was in a lot of pain,” Daboll said of Robinson. “He did. I don’t know what it is. I’ll find out after I’m done with this.”
Daboll declined to go into a report that Jackson suffered a sprained MCL.
“I don’t know,” Daboll said of if the reported diagnosis was accurate. “I haven’t talked to any of these guys yet.”
Nov. 20, 2:41 p.m.
Adoree’ Jackson will miss 3-5 weeks after suffering an MCL sprain against the Lions on Sunday, according to Jordan Schultz.
The cornerback was playing well this season and had been one of the anchors on the Giants’ defense with 49 total tackles (38 solo), two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble.
Nov. 20, 1:51 p.m.
After initially being considered questionable to return, cornerback Adoree’ Jackson has been downgraded to out for the rest of Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions. Offensive tackle Tyre Phillps was downgraded to out as well.
Jackson, who has been receiving punts for New York lately, injured his knee on a punt return in the second quarter of Sunday’s matchup.
Meanwhile, Phillips has a neck injury.
Nov. 19, 4:25 p.m.
The Giants activated OG Shane Lemieux (foot) off of the IR and elevated TE Lawrence Cager from the practice squad to the active roster on Saturday ahead of their Week 11 matchup with the Detroit Lions on Sunday.
Both players are expected to start, as Lemieux will likely replace Joshua Ezeudu (neck) on the offensive line at LG.
Nov. 18, 11:15 a.m.
Giants head coach Brian Daboll said Friday before practice that WR Wan’Dale Robinson (hamstring) is “trending in the right way” for Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions, but the team will make a decision after practice.
Robinson was limited in practice Wednesday and missed Thursday’s practice due to a tight hamstring.
Daboll added that TE Daniel Bellinger (eye) will be out and that the team is “not optimistic” about OT Evan Neal‘s (knee) status for Week 11.
Daboll also believes that LG Joshua Ezeudu (neck) “will be good to go,” and said OL Shane Lemieux (foot) had a good week of practice and could be activated for Sunday’s game.
Nov. 17, 1:54 p.m.
Giants WR Wan’Dale Robinson missed practice on Thursday due to a tight hamstring, putting his status for Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions at MetLife Stadium in jeopardy.
Robinson has been one of Daniel Jones‘ only reliable targets recently with Sterling Shepard out for the season, and Daniel Bellinger still working his way back from an eye injury.
Kenny Golladay returned last week against the Houston Texans before being benched in the second half due to poor play.
If Robinson is out against Detroit, Jones will likely have to mostly rely on Darius Slayton, Isaiah Hodgins, and Lawrence Cager through the air.
In addition to Robinson being out, Daniel Bellinger remained a DNP.
Dexter Lawrence (back) and Kayvon Thibodeaux (illness) were limited.
Nov. 16, 12:31 p.m.
For the first time since suffering a sprained MCL against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 7, tackle Evan Neal will “start working” during Wednesday’s practice, according to head coach Brian Daboll.
Neal, the seventh overall pick in this year’s draft, will give the Giants O-line quite the boost when he returns to the lineup, bookending the offensive line with Andrew Thomas on the other side.
Nov. 14, 3:35 p.m.
The Giants activated CB Rodarius Williams from IR on Monday, the team announced.
Additionally, DL Henry Mondeaux was signed from the practice squad.
In corresponding moves, T Devery Hamilton and DB Justin Layne were released, and the Giants terminated the practice squad contract of T Will Holden.
Nov. 13, 11:38 a.m.
For the first time since Week 4, the Giants will have Kenny Golladay back in the lineup.
The veteran wide receiver has been out of action since the team’s Week 4 matchup with the Bears due to a knee injury, but he is officially active for Sunday’s game vs. Houston.
Golladay has just two catches for 22 yards this season, with both grabs coming in the season opener against Tennessee.
Nov. 12, 5:32 p.m.
The Giants are activating OT Matt Peart (knee) from the physically unable to perform (PUP) list Saturday ahead of their Week 10 matchup with the Houston Texans, according to The Athletic’s Dan Duggan.
Peart suffered a torn ACL against the Philadelphia Eagles last season on Dec. 26, 2021, and was placed on the PUP list at the beginning of training camp. The 25-year-old was selected in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft out of UConn. He played in 11 games (one start) during his rookie season and then played 15 games (five starts) in 2022.
Additionally, the Giants are elevating TE Lawrence Cager and DL Henry Mondeaux from the practice squad for Sunday’s game.
Nov. 11, 11:30 a.m.
The Giants are “optimistic” wide receiver Kenny Golladay will make his return to the field Sunday against the Houston Texans, head coach Brian Daboll said Friday.
“He’s had two days [of practice], we’ll see how he does today, but I’m optimistic that he should be ready to go,” Daboll said. “But we’ll go through it one more day and see if anything happens.”
Daboll announced Golladay, linebacker Oshane Ximines (quad), and defensive back Cor’Dale Flott (calf) will all be listed as questionable, but are on track to play.
Golladay has been out of action since Week 4 due to a knee injury. He has just two catches for 22 yards this season in limited action.
Tight end Daniel Bellinger and offensive tackle Evan Neal will be out, Daboll said.
The head coach said there would be a conversation after Friday’s practice about whether any or all of the players the team designated to return from IR – offensive linemen Shane Lemieux and Matt Peart, and cornerback Rodarius Williams – would be activated for Sunday.
Nov. 9, 3:05 p.m.
Rookie tight end Daniel Bellinger spoke to reporters after practice Wednesday for the first time since suffering an eye injury in Week 7, and said his vision is “getting better day by day” while waiting for the plate under his eye to fuse to the bone and heal up.
“I still have a little double vision, the doctor said it was normal to have that,” Bellinger said. “So just kind of waiting for that to heal up and wait for that to go away.”
He added: “They had to go in and go right under the eye and put a plate in, just get the bone fixed up, and then had to fix my septum as well.”
Bellinger underwent successful surgery to repair fractures on the lower window of his eye socket and damage to the septum on Oct. 28. At the time, he hoped to return in two-to-six weeks, although a four-to-six week timetable was more likely depending on how the injury healed. The 22-year-old said he was afraid of the worst at first, but was reassured by doctors that the actual eye was OK. He’s been working out and running with team trainers, but has not practiced yet and added that he’ll wear a visor upon returning to the field.
“Definitely confident I can play again this season,” Bellinger said. “Just getting out there running the last couple days felt good. Really just getting this swelling to go down completely and once this eye is level with this eye, the vision will be back.”
Nov. 8, 2:44 p.m.
Giants WR Kenny Golladay was back at practice on Tuesday ahead of his expected return to action on Sunday against the Houston Texans at MetLife Stadium.
The belief was that Golladay would be back in game action after the bye week, and he seems to be on track.
Golladay hasn’t played since Oct. 2 against the Chicago Bears due to a knee injury.
Before getting hurt, the Giants weren’t targeting Golladay much, with him catching just two passes for 22 yards all season.
Now, with Sterling Shepard out for the season, Kadarius Toney traded to the Kansas City Chiefs, and Daniel Bellinger out due to an eye injury, the Giants could again make Golladay a key part of the offense.
Nov. 8, 12:38 p.m.
After their Week 9 bye, Giants head coach Brian Daboll had lots of information regarding some of his injured players.
The most recent and most notable injury belongs to Xavier McKinney who broke multiple fingers in an ATV-related incident while on vacation in Cabo during the bye week, and recently had surgery to repair the breaks. While Daboll said he feels bad for McKinney and the team, he also said he’s disappointed at what happened.
As for the players who got injured on the field, Daboll said that Daniel Bellinger and Evan Neal are the only players eligible to practice who will not be practicing on Tuesday. Although, Daboll added that Bellinger, who underwent eye surgery in late October, is getting better and that the tight end looks a lot better as well.
After suffering a concussion against the Seattle Seahawks prior to the bye week, Richie James will be limited in practice in a non-contact way, according to Daboll.
Finally, Daboll confirmed that Nick Williams is done for the year and also said that Aaron Robinson is doubtful to play again this season.
Nov. 7, 6:30 p.m.
The Giants designated offensive lineman Shane Lemieux for return from injured reserve.
Lemieux, the Giants’ starting left guard, injured his foot Aug. 11 in the Giants’ preseason opener at the New England Patriots. The Giants will have 21 days for Lemieux to practice during which time they can decide to activate him.
The 6-foot-4, 310-pound Lemieux suffered a season-ending knee injury last September after just one game.
As a rookie during the 2020 season, Lemieux logged 12 games with nine starts at left guard.
The Giants selected Lemieux from Oregon with the 2020 NFL Draft’s No. 150 overall pick (fifth round).
Nov. 1, 4:40 p.m.
Giants GM Joe Schoen spoke to media after the 4:00 p.m. trade deadline and said he’s “hopeful” WR Kenny Golladay (knee) can return to the field after the bye week against the Huston Texans on Sunday, Nov. 13.
“Kenny is hopefully coming back soon,” Schoen said. “Fingers are crossed he’ll be back for Houston, so it’ll be good to get a look at him again. Again, I’m hopeful for him against Houston.”
Golladay has not played since Week 3 against the Chicago Bears, and has made only two receptions this season for 22 yards (both in Week 1).
Oct. 30, 7:04 p.m.
The Giants ruled WR/PR Richie James out due to a concussion more than midway through the fourth quarter of New York’s Week 8 game at the Seattle Seahawks.
James fumbled a costly punt — his second of the afternoon — with 6:18 left in the game and the Giants trailing 20-13. He was injured during the play and helped off the field.
James returned four punts for 28 yards, including a long of 12.
His first fumble came with 2:39 left in the second quarter and the Giants tied 7-7 when he fielded a punt at the New York 24-yard line for no gain and the Seahawks recovered. Seattle cashed in on the short field, kicking a 35-yard field goal with 1:38 left to take a 10-7 lead.
Two plays after James’ second fumble, the Seahawks took a game-sealing 27-13 advantage on a 16-yard touchdown run by Kenneth Walker III. Seattle’s short-field drive started at the Giants’ 32-yard line.
Oct. 30, 5:15 p.m.
On the final play of the first quarter in Seattle, Giants defensive tackle Nick Williams went down with an apparent arm injury.
He went to the locker room to be evaluated and the team announced he was questionable to return with a bicep injury before he was declared out just before halftime.
Oct. 28, 2:05 p.m.
Tight end Daniel Bellinger could be back sooner than expected after suffering an eye injury in Week 7, as the rookie underwent successful surgery to repair fractures on the lower window of his eye socket and damage to the septum, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.
The 22-year-old from San Diego State hopes to return in two-to-six weeks, but a four-to-six week timetable could be more likely depending on how the injury heals, per Fowler.
Bellinger has made 16 receptions for 152 yards and a touchdown over seven games. He also has one run for two yards and a touchdown that came in Week 5 against the Green Bay Packers in London.
Oct. 26, 9:53 a.m.
The Giants are activating OL Nick Gates from the physically unable to perform (PUP) list and adding him to the 53-man roster, according to ESPN’s Jordan Raanan.
Gates suffered a devastating leg injury in Week 2 of the 2021 season, and had to undergo seven surgeries to repair his fractured fibula. The 26-year-old played in 16 games (three starts) at guard during his rookie season in 2019 and then started all 16 games at center in 2020.
The team had to make a decision to activate the OL as his 21-day window on the PUP list expired Wednesday.
Gates’ return comes at a perfect time with the Giants in need of help on the offensive line after Evan Neal and Ben Bredeson suffered knee injuries in the Week 7 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Additionally, WR Kadarius Toney (hamstring), WR Kenny Golladay (knee), OLB Oshane Ximines (quad) and CB Cor’Dale Flott (calf) won’t practice Wednesday.
Oct. 25, 2:34 p.m.
According to his Instagram story, Sterling Shepard will undergo his ACL surgery today.
Shepard suffered a torn ACL on Sept. 26 at home against the Dallas Cowboys but underwent a month of rehab before the procedure to accelerate the recovery process afterward.
Saquon Barkley and others have had a similar process when they suffered related injuries.
Oct. 24, 3:44 p.m.
Giants head coach Brian Daboll said that rookie TE Daniel Bellinger, who suffered an eye injury in the second quarter of Sunday’s win against the Jaguars in Jacksonville, may need surgery for a fracture around his eye socket and septum.
Bellinger was poked in the eye through his facemask after a catch in the second quarter on Sunday and left the field on a cart.
It is unclear how quickly Bellinger might be able to return if surgery is needed, but Daboll said he’s hopeful the injury won’t be season-ending.
After the Giants face the Seahawks this Sunday in Seattle, they have their bye week.
Bellinger has become one of Daniel Jones‘ top targets with wide receivers Kadarius Toney and Kenny Golladay out.
Daboll also gave updates on offensive linemen Evan Neal and Ben Bredeson, saying both will be evaluated on a week-to-week basis. Neal is expected to miss 3-4 weeks due to the MCL injury, per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Neal and Bredeson both suffered knee injuries on Sunday.
Oct. 23, 2:03 p.m.
Offensive guard Ben Bredeson was ruled out for the remainder of the Week 7 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars with a knee injury, the team announced at the end of the first quarter.
Rookie Josh Ezeudu replaced Bredeson at left guard.
First-round pick Evan Neal then went down with a knee injury in the second quarter, limped to the sideline, and was carted to the locker room. He also was ruled out for the rest of the game with a knee injury, according to the Giants. Tyre Phillips replaced him at RT.
The initial belief is that Neal suffered an MCL injury and he will undergo an MRI to determine the full extent of the injury, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Oct. 22, 5:20 p.m.
The Giants announced that Azeez Ojulari (calf) has been placed on Injured Reserve, which means the linebacker will have to miss a minimum of four games. With the Giants set to have their bye in Week 9, Ojulari won’t be eligible to return until New York’s game against the Cowboys on Thanksgiving.
Safety Landon Collins and defensive lineman Ryder Anderson were elevated from the practice squad ahead of Sunday’s game against the Jaguars. Outside linebacker Quincy Roche was also signed to the active roster from the team’s practice squad.
Oct. 21, 2:18 p.m.
Five Giants players have been ruled out for Sunday’s matchup in Jacksonville against the Jaguars.
Azeez Ojulari (calf), Oshane Ximines (quad), Cor’Dale Flott (calf), Kenny Golladay (knee) and Kadarius Toney (hamstring) will not suit up for Big Blue.
Ximines injured himself against the Baltimore Ravens last Sunday while Ojulari and Golladay haven’t played since Oct. 2 against the Chicago Bears. Flott last played on Sept. 26 against the Dallas Cowboys and Toney has been sidelined since the team’s Sept. 18 matchup against the Carolina Panthers.
Jon Feliciano (groin) and Jason Pinnock (ankle) were limited participants during Friday’s practice and are questionable to play on Sunday.
Oct. 20, 3:12 p.m.
Kadarius Toney spoke to reporters at length on Thursday after practice and gave some updates on his injury.
While he said he is sprinting and cutting, he still doesn’t have a timetable for a possible return.
The 23-year-old also mentioned that he hasn’t received any negative feedback from his coaches or the front office and believes that he can still be the elite player that he knows he is, according to Pat Leonard of the NY Daily News.
Oct. 20, 1:04 p.m.
For a second straight day, Kenny Golladay (knee) and Kadarius Toney (hamstring) will not be practicing for the Giants.
The G-Men will travel to Jacksonville to take on the Jaguars on Sunday so another missed practice for the wide receiver tandem is not a good sign for their availabilities.
Meanwhile, Saquon Barkley (shoulder) will be a limited participant once again, but the fifth-year running back has not missed a game this season.
Oct. 19, 4:12 p.m.
WR Kadarius Toney (hamstring) didn’t practice on Wednesday, but is getting better and healthier, Giants head coach Brian Daboll said. Daboll added that Toney isn’t a candidate for IR, which means he’s expected to return to the field at some point over the next four weeks.
Toney has not played since Week 2, as he recorded his only two receptions on the season in that game against the Carolina Panthers.
Additionally, Kenny Golladay (knee) didn’t practice Wednesday. The 28-year-old has missed the past two games, and his only two catches this season came in Week 1 against the Tennessee Titans.
Oshane Ximines (quad), Cor’Dale Flott (calf), and Jason Pinnock (ankle) were also DNPs
Saquon Barkley (shoulder), Andrew Thomas (elbow), Azeez Ojulari (calf), and Jon Feliciano (groin) were limited participants in Wednesday’s practice. Ojulari is trending towards a return Sunday after missing the last three games.
Oct. 16, 10:28 a.m.
Though DL Leonard Williams and WR Wan’Dale Robinson were both officially listed as questionable to play against the Ravens due to knee injuries, it appears both will indeed be able to go.
According to Ian Rapoport and Judy Battista of NFL Network, both Williams and Robinson are expected to suit up and play when things kick off at MetLife Stadium at 1:00 p.m.
Robinson has played in just one game this season, catching one pass for five yards in the season opener against Tennessee. Williams, meanwhile, will be playing just his third game of the season.
Oct. 14, 1:27 p.m.
Leonard Williams, who has been out since Week 3 due to a knee injury, could be trending toward returning against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.
Head coach Brian Daboll said on Friday that Williams is “a little further ahead” of Azeez Ojulari when it comes to a potential return.
Meanwhile, it continues to seem likely that Wan’Dale Robinson, who has been practicing this week, could play on Sunday.
Daboll said Robinson is making progress.
If Robinson returns against the Ravens, it could be big for a Giants offense that will again be without Kadarius Toney and Kenny Golladay, and will be facing a Ravens defense that has been brutal against the pass.
Oct. 13, 4:40 p.m.
Giants wide receiver Wan’Dale Robinson was officially listed as a limited participant in Thursday’s practice, but the rookie sounds optimistic about returning on Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens.
Robinson said Thursday afternoon, via Charlotte Carroll of The Athletic, that he hopes to be back on the field on Sunday and has been “feeling good” as his practice reps increase.
The 43rd overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft out of Kentucky, Robinson caught one pass for five yards in the season opener against the Tennessee Titans before suffering a knee injury.
Elsewhere on the injury report, fellow receivers Kadarius Toney (hamstring) and Kenny Golladay (knee) both did no participate on Thursday, while RB Saquon Barkley (shoulder), CB Adoree Jackson (knee/neck) and DL Leonard Williams (knee) were all limited. Quarterback Tyrod Taylor (concussion), meanwhile, was a full participant after Brian Daboll confirmed the veteran cleared the league’s concussion protocol.
Oct. 13, 1:10 p.m.
Saquon Barkley (shoulder) was limited at practice Thursday for a second straight day, but head coach Brian Daboll told reporters there isn’t a concern for Barkley’s status on Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens and the RB will be able to handle a full workload.
Additionally, Daboll said that backup QB Tyrod Taylor is out of the concussion protocol. Taylor did not travel to London last week as Davis Webb served as Daniel Jones‘ backup.
Oct. 12, 4:26 p.m.
Wan’Dale Robinson (knee) was back at practice for the Giants on a limited basis Wednesday.
Other players who were limited included Saquon Barkley (shoulder), Adoree Jackson (knee/neck), Leonard Williams (knee) and Tyrod Taylor (concussion).
Kadarius Toney (hamstring), Kenny Golladay (knee) and Cor’Dale Flott (calf) remained out.
Oct. 11, 3:58 p.m.
The injuries continue to pile up for the Giants as defensive lineman D.J. Davidson is headed to IR with a torn ACL.
Davidson was selected out of Arizona State in the 2022 NFL Draft and had four tackles for Big Blue this season.
Oct. 9, 9:27 a.m.
Defensive end Leonard Williams (knee) and receiver Kadarius Toney (hamstring) are both inactive for Sunday’s Week 5 matchup against the Green Bay Packers in London. Neither has played since Week 2.
Additionally, Kenny Golladay (knee), Wan’Dale Robinson (knee), Azeez Ojulari (calf), Cor’Dale Flott (calf), and Tyrod Taylor (concussion) are also inactive for the Week 5 game.
The Giants activated quarterback Davis Webb and wide receiver Marcus Johnson off the practice squad Saturday, as Webb will serve as the backup QB to Daniel Jones.
Oct. 7, 11:41 a.m.
Daniel Jones participated in practice on Friday and is not on the injury report. That means he is on track to start on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers in London.
Meanwhile, Kadarius Toney — who was limited on Wednesday with a hamstring injury and did not practice on Thursday — tweaked his other hamstring on Thursday, head coach Brian Daboll told reporters on Friday. Toney was not practicing on Friday and will not play against Green Bay.
Toney has not played since Week 2 against the Carolina Panthers, and has made only two receptions this season over the two games he was healthy to play.
Oct. 5, 4:35 p.m.
On Wednesday, QB Daniel Jones (ankle) was a limited participant in practice, saying he “was in and out a little bit at some times,” but “overall felt good” and “could do most things.”
Nick McCloud (hamstring), Fabian Moreau (foot), Evan Neal (neck), Wan’Dale Robinson (knee), Kadarius Toney (hamstring), and Leonard Williams (knee) were all limited participants in practice as well.
Additionally, Cor’Dale Flott (calf), Kenny Golladay (knee), Richie James (ankle), Julian Love (concussion), Henry Mondeaux (ankle), Azeez Ojulari (calf), and Tyrod Taylor (concussion) did not practice.
Oct. 5, 12:35 p.m.
Head coach Brian Daboll said Wednesday that Daniel Jones (ankle) has made “a lot of progress” since Sunday and will practice to some extent. Daboll added that Tyrod Taylor is still in concussion protocol, and the team will decide if they need to sign another QB depending how Jones looks in practice.
Jones spoke with John Jastremski on his “New York, New York” podcast on Tuesday, saying he’s “feeling pretty good” and hopes to continue to do so the rest of the week leading up to their Week 5 game on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers in London.
“I’m feeling good, I’m feeling pretty good,” Jones said. “Yeah, I know another physical game for us on Sunday, but feeling good. And I’ll continue to feel better throughout the week, so just keep going.”
The fourth-year QB suffered a sprained ankle against the Chicago Bears on Sunday, and returned to the game late after Taylor suffered a concussion. The Giants worked out Jake Fromm and A.J. McCarron on Tuesday with Jones’ status uncertain.
Jastremski asked Jones if coming away with a victory on Sunday makes the body aches feel a little better during the week.
“Yeah, there’s no doubt about it, you always heal up a little quicker after a win,” Jones said. “So I think there’s some science to that also, but you definitely feel it and guys are feeling good. Another physical game, there’ll be physical games throughout the year, but I think guys will bounce back and get ready to go for next week.”
Oct. 5, 10:25 a.m.
The Giants announced that offensive lineman Nick Gates will return to practice on Wednesday after he was placed on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list at the beginning of training camp.
The 26-year-old suffered a fractured leg last season in Week 2 on Sept. 16 against Washington and spent the remainder of the season on injured reserve. At the time, there was some concern that Gates’ injury could be career-ending.
Gates was signed by the Giants in 2018 as an undrafted free agent out of Nebraska. After spending his rookie season on IR, Gates played in 16 games (three starts) in 2019 at guard and then started all 16 games in the 2020 season at center. After a strong season, he was named one of the team’s seven captains for the 2021 season.
Oct. 4, 3:00 p.m.
After head coach Brian Daboll said on Monday that it didn’t look like CB Aaron Robinson would be able to play this Sunday against the Green Bay Packers in London following his knee injury against the Chicago Bears in Week 4, the Giants have placed Robinson on Injured Reserve.
With that designation, Robinson is required to miss a minimum of four games, which means his earliest possible return would be Nov. 13 against the Houston Texans in Week 10 since the Giants have a bye in Week 9.
Oct. 3, 3:00 p.m.
Head coach Brian Daboll offered updates on some injured Giants, most notably Daniel Jones, on Monday. While he wouldn’t go into specifics, Daboll did say Jones has a sprained ankle.
“Daniel is feeling a little bit better today. We’ll see how it goes,” Daboll said. “We’ll probably work out a few quarterbacks.”
With backup QB Tyrod Taylor in concussion protocol, whether the team signs another quarterback will depend on how Taylor and Jones progress this week.
However, Daboll also said that the team is planning for every contingency which could mean practice squad QB Davis Webb potentially getting the start. The team will let the week play out before making any decisions but Daboll did say Webb knows the “ins and outs” of the offense.
Daboll continued with injury updates on a slew of other players, as well. He said it doesn’t look good for Kenny Golladay (knee), Aaron Robinson (knee), and Henry Mondeaux (leg) to play on Sunday.
Mark Glowinski, Kayvon Thibodeaux, and Jihad Ward should be good to go, while Azeez Ojulari will be reevaluated on Wednesday.
Oct. 3, 8:04 a.m.
Daniel Jones, who left the Giants’ Week 4 win over the Chicago Bears on Sunday due to an ankle injury late in the game, is considered day-to-day, reports Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.
Per NFL.com, there is “some optimism” that Jones will be able to play when the Giants face the Green Bay Packers this coming Sunday in London.
Jones was briefly replaced by Tyrod Taylor against the Bears but came back in after Taylor left the game due to what was eventually diagnosed as a concussion.
Jones said that after coming back in, his ankle didn’t feel quite right and he wasn’t as mobile as he needed to be.
Jones ran for two touchdowns on Sunday before suffering his injury.
Oct. 2, 5:26 p.m.
Daniel Jones left the Giants-Bears game with an apparent ankle injury after being sacked late in the third quarter.
Tyrod Taylor took over for Jones at the end of the quarter and returned for another series in the fourth.
The Giants said Jones’ return was questionable.
Taylor got knocked out of the game with a head injury after taking a massive hit. Jones returned but lined up as a wide receiver with Saquon Barkley lining up in the Wildcat formation.
The Giants confirmed that Taylor had a concussion and he would enter the protocol.
“I went up to him,” Brian Daboll said of Jones. “He talked to the trainers. He worked over there on the side. I saw him moving a little bit. He wanted to go. I said, ‘You’re not going into the game. I see you’re limping. I’m not risking you getting injured to try to protect yourself with that limp. But if we need you, can you go back in the game?’ He said, ‘Yeah. I can go in the game now.’ I said, ‘Tyrod’s going in the game, and if we need you, hopefully it’ll be just to hand the ball off.’ So, when Tyrod went down, I looked over to (quarterbacks coach) Shea (Tierney) and said, ‘Is (Jones) good to go?’ He said, ‘Yup.’ We didn’t pass it, right? We just handed it off.”
Evan Neal (neck) and Kenny Golladay (knee) also left the game and were considered questionable to return.
Oct. 2, 2:15 p.m.
Giants CB Aaron Robinson was removed from the team’s Week 4 matchup against the Chicago Bears with a knee injury and won’t return.
It appeared Robinson was tackled by a Bears lineman on a run play when his right knee looked to bend awkwardly.
Safety Julian Love is being evaluated for a concussion and his return is questionable while guard Mark Glowinski is also questionable to return with an ankle injury.
Sept. 30, 2:45 p.m.
The Giants announced a number of players will be out for the team’s Week 4 matchup against the Chicago Bears.
DL Leonard Williams (knee), cornerbacks Cor’Dale Flott (calf) and Nick McCloud (hamstring), as well as wide receivers Kadarius Toney (hamstring) and Wan’Dale Robinson (knee) will all be sidelined this Sunday.
With Toney and Robinson out and the season-ending injury to Sterling Shepard, the Giants will rely heavily on Kenny Golladay, David Sills and Richie James in the passing game.
On the bright side, CB Aaron Robinson, LB Jihad Ward, and CB Justin Layne all practiced fully on Friday.
Sept. 29, 4:13 p.m.
Cor’Dale Flott (calf) and Kadarius Toney (hamstring) did not participate in practice for a second straight day on Thursday.
Other Giants to appear on the injury report as DNPs included Leonard Williams (knee), Wan’Dale Robinson (knee), and CB Nick McCloud (hamstring).
Aaron Robinson (appendix) and Jihad Ward (knee) were both listed as limited in practice, while CB Justin Layne (concussion) was a full participant in practice.
Sept. 28, 3:36 p.m.
Cor’Dale Flott (calf) and Kadarius Toney (hamstring) were among the Giants on the injury report as DNPs on Wednesday as the team held a walkthrough.
Toney missed last week’s game and has not been practicing this week.
Also on the injury report as DNPs were Leonard Williams, Jihad Ward, Wan’Dale Robinson, and Nick McCloud.
Aaron Robinson and Justin Layne were both listed as being limited.
Sept. 28, 12:51 p.m.
CB Aaron Robinson, who has been out since Week 2 after having his appendix removed, is “trending upward,” head coach Brian Daboll told reporters on Wednesday.
Getting Robinson back would be a boon for the Giants’ secondary, which has been held together mostly by Adoree’ Jackson and Xavier McKinney in Robinson’s absence.
It is not yet clear if Robinson — who has been waiting for the incision from his surgery to heal — will be ready to play in Week 4 against the Chicago Bears.
Sept. 27, 12:17 p.m.
Big Blue will be without Sterling Shepard for the rest of the season, with head coach Brian Daboll telling reporters on Tuesday that the wide receiver tore his ACL against the Dallas Cowboys on Monday night.
“He’s a tremendous person,” Daboll said. “He worked so diligently to get back and you feel terrible for him that he had that injury. He’s a big part of our team and we’ll miss him out on the field.”
With Shepard’s absence and Kenny Golladay‘s continued struggles, the Giants now have few options at the wide receiver position.
Daboll did say, however, that Kadarius Toney and Wan’Dale Robinson are “getting closer” to returning from their own injuries, but that he can’t say for sure whether or not they’ll be ready against the Chicago Bears in Week 4.
Sept. 26, 11:34 p.m.
Wide receiver Sterling Shepard suffered a non-contact leg injury on the Giants’ final drive against the Dallas Cowboys on Monday night and had to be carted off the field.
Shepard was running down field when he grabbed for his left leg and fell to the ground in pain.
The 29-year-old returned this season after suffering a torn left Achilles last year.
“I don’t,” Brian Daboll said after the game when asked for an early update. “I went in there to see him, he’s in the shower, I didn’t stop to talk to the trainers. It didn’t look good, what I saw.”
“It’s tough,” Daboll added. “It’s a tough sport. Guys work their butts off to get back from injuries and if this is something that he’s out for the whole season, which we’ll probably know tomorrow morning or maybe we even know now, you hurt for those guys because they put everything into it. You watch them in the rehab room, you watch them in the offseason — it’s just a shame.”
Sept. 26, 7:15 p.m.
Linebackers Kayvon Thibodeaux (knee) and Azeez Ojulari (calf) are active for Monday Night Football between the Giants and Dallas Cowboys, New York confirmed before the Week 3 game.
Wide receiver Kadarius Toney (hamstring) is among seven inactive players.
The others are defensive lineman Leonard Williams (knee), fellow wide receiver Wan’Dale Robinson (knee), cornerback Aaron Robinson (appendix), linebacker Tomon Fox, and cornerbacks Justin Layne (concussion) and Nick McCloud (hamstring).
From the practice squad, the Giants activated defensive tackle Henry Mondeaux and defensive back Fabian Moreau.
Both Thibodeaux and Ojulari make their season debut after missing the Giants’ wins over the Tennessee Titans and Carolina Panthers.
They were questionable on Saturday’s final injury report, which also listed Toney and Williams as doubtful.
Sept. 24, 2:19 p.m.
After not practicing again on Saturday, wide receiver Kadarius Toney has officially been listed as doubtful for Monday night against the Cowboys due to a hamstring injury. Defensive lineman Leonard Williams (knee) is also listed as doubtful.
Meanwhile, WR Wan’Dale Robinson (knee) and CBs Aaron Robinson (appendix), Nick McCloud (hamstring) and Justin Layne (concussion) have been ruled out.
Kayvon Thibodeaux (knee) and Azeez Ojulari (calf) are listed as questionable, though Thibodeaux told reporters on Saturday that he believes he will play.
Sept. 24, 11:53 a.m.
Head coach Brian Daboll said before practice on Saturday that WR Kadarius Toney (hamstring) won’t participate for the second straight day.
Daboll added that Toney’s status for Monday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys will be evaluated after practice.
Additionally, DL Leonard Williams (knee), WR Wan’Dale Robinson (knee) and CB Aaron Robinson (appendix) will also not practice on Saturday.
Sept. 22, 3:24 p.m.
Giants linebacker Azeez Ojulari (calf) told reporters he will play in Monday night’s Week 3 game against the Dallas Cowboys.
Ojulari, a second-round pick in 2021, missed the team’s first two games with a strained calf he sustained during a joint practice with the Jets on Aug. 25.
Sept. 22, 1:17 p.m.
Giants cornerback Aaron Robinson (appendicitis) is not expected to play in Monday’s Week 3 game against Dallas Cowboys, head coach Brian Daboll told reporters.
Robinson needs the incisions from his appendectomy to heal more before he returns, Daboll said.
Before Thursday’s practice, Daboll said that Robinson was among a handful of players sidelined for the afternoon at the Giants’ indoor practice facility.
The list of Giants not practicing included wide receiver Wan’Dale Robinson (knee), defensive lineman Leonard Williams (knee), cornerback Nick McCloud (hamstring) and cornerback Justin Layne (undisclosed).
Wide receiver Kadarius Toney (hamstring), meanwhile, is “expected to do something after sitting out Wednesday,” according to Jordan Raanan of ESPN.
Sept. 21, 12:20 p.m.
Kayvon Thibodeaux (knee) and Azeez Ojulari (calf) are “getting close” to returning and will do some team drills today, per Brian Daboll.
The Giants head coach also added that Leonard Williams will get treated during practice Wednesday while Aaron Robinson is a “wild card” and Daboll isn’t sure what his status is yet.
Daboll also confirmed that Sterling Shepard will not practice today due to rep management while Kadarius Toney is dealing with hamstring soreness and won’t practice.
Sept. 19, 8:38 p.m.
Leonard Williams‘ knee injury is a sprained MCL, according to a report Monday evening by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
The Giants defensive lineman is not expected to miss much time, the report said.
Giants head coach Brian Daboll told reporters earlier Monday that Williams was “day-to-day” with a knee injury “but it’s better than it could be.”
“He said he feels a lot better than he did yesterday,” Daboll said. “He’s walking around, so we’ll just take it like we normally do with these things each day. So, hopefully he’s a fast healer.”
Sept. 19, 3:50 p.m.
Giants DE Leonard Williams‘ injured knee is “better than it could be,” head coach Brian Daboll told reporters on Monday, adding that Williams is “day-to-day.”
It is not clear when Williams might return, but at this point it is not an IR situation.
Williams left Sunday’s Week 2 matchup against the Carolina Panthers with the injury and was later ruled out for the rest of the game.
The play Williams was injured on came in the third quarter while trying to get around his guard to get to the quarterback. Williams was pushed to the outside and into another Panthers guard who fell backwards on the 28-year-old’s leg.
Williams stayed down on the field for a spell before he got up and left to the locker room under his own power, but was noticeably limping.
Sept. 18, 11:43 a.m.
Second-year wide receiver Kadarius Toney (hamstring) will play Sunday against the Carolina Panthers, head coach Brian Daboll told NFL Network’s Stacey Dales prior to kickoff.
Toney was listed as questionable after he left Thursday’s practice early, but participated on Friday. The Florida product only played seven snaps in the team’s Week 1 win.
Linebackers Kayvon Thibodeaux (knee) and Azeez Ojulari (calf) are inactive for the Week 2 matchup. Additionally, WR Wan’Dale Robinson, DB Jason Pinnock, DB Aaron Robinson, DB Nick McCloud, and OT Tyre Phillips are also inactive.
Sept. 16, 3:15 p.m.
The latest Giants injury report released Friday and linebackers Kayvon Thibodeaux (knee) and Azeez Ojulari (calf) are listed as doubtful for the team’s Week 2 matchup against the Panthers.
CB Nick McCloud (hamstring), S Jason Pinnock (shoulder), CB Aaron Robinson (appendicitis) and WR Wan’Dale Robinson (knee) are all listed as out for Sunday’s game.
Kadarius Toney (hamstring) participated in Friday’s practice after leaving Thursday’s practice early and is listed as questionable.
Sept. 16, 11:40 a.m.
Kadarius Toney‘s hamstring tightened up on him during Thursday’s practice and the wide receiver will try to practice Friday before the team determines his status for Sunday, according to Brian Daboll.
The hamstring issue is on the same leg that gave Toney problem throughout training camp.
Toney was involved in just seven snaps in Week 1 and rushed twice for 23 yards in the win.
Sept. 15, 3:35 p.m.
Kayvon Thibodeaux spoke after practice on Thursday about his status for Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers, saying that he’s “very optimistic.”
“Right now I’d say it’s day-to-day,” Thibodeaux said. “We’re still growing, but I’ll say I’m very optimistic, it’s good.”
Thibodeaux was asked by reporters if his knee is feeling stronger from last week, adding that he’s been “making really good gains every day”
“It feels a lot better,” Thibodeaux said. “I’ve just been making really good gains every day and just continuing to kind of bring back those reps in the different kind of motion and kind of getting comfortable back in my position.”
When asked if his status for Sunday was unlikely, Thibodeaux added: “No I wouldn’t call it unlikely, we’re still playing it. I just want to make sure, we want to cross our T’s and dot our I’s before I get back out there.”
Additionally, wide receiver Kadarius Toney appeared on Thursday’s injury report as a limited participant in practice with a hamstring injury.
Toney played only seven snaps in Week 1, rushing twice for 23 yards.
Sept. 15, 12:43 p.m.
OLB Kayvon Thibodeaux is making progress as he works his way back from a sprained MCL in his right knee that he suffered during Week 2 of the preseason.
Thibodeaux, who missed Week 1 of the regular season against the Titans in Tennessee, got some team reps in at practice on Wednesday, head coach Brian Daboll told reporters on Thursday.
Thibodeaux is ahead of fellow LB Azeez Ojulari (who missed Week 1 due to a calf injury) in the rehab process.
Thibodeaux was listed as doubtful for Week 1 against the Titans before being ruled out, so it’s not clear if he’ll be able to make enough progress to suit up for Week 2 against the Carolina Panthers in the Giants’ home opener at MetLife Stadium.
Sept. 14, 12:04 p.m.
Starting CB Aaron Robinson is out for Week 2 against the Carolina Panthers after having his appendix removed.
Head coach Brian Daboll did not say who would start in Robinson’s place.
Options could include Darnay Holmes and Cor’Dale Flott, who has been working as Adoree’ Jackson‘s backup on the left side.
Daboll also provided an update on WR Wan’Dale Robinson, who left Week 1’s win with a knee injury.
Robinson is still listed as day-to-day, but is making progress.
Sept. 11, 9:40 p.m.
The Giants ruled out Wan’Dale Robinson for the rest of Sunday’s game at the Tennessee Titans due to a knee injury.
On third-and-4 from the Giants’ 31-yard line with 9:10 left in the first quarter, Robinson caught a five-yard pass for the first down but absorbed a hard hit by Amani Hooker.
Robinson stayed in and played a number of subsequent snaps, but the Giants ruled him out midway through the second quarter.
“He got hurt,” said Brian Daboll postgame. “That’s all I’m saying.”
“I don’t know,” Daboll added. “I think he landed weird or something. I haven’t even gotten to him. I just asked him at halftime, real quick, ‘You doing OK?’ He said, ‘Yeah, I just landed funny.'”
“I don’t know yet, but whatever it is, we’ll rehab and he’ll be out as soon as he can.”
Sept. 9, 11:59 a.m.
Kayvon Thibodeaux (knee) and Azeez Ojulari (calf) are listed as doubtful for the Giants’ Week 1 matchup against the Tennessee Titans.
Thibodeaux said earlier this week that he was unsure of his status as he rehabbed to get back in game shape.
“I don’t know, right now it’s day to day,” Thibodeaux said about Week 1. “It could really go either way so just waiting to see where it is when time comes.”
Sept. 6, 3:35 p.m.
Giants top draft pick Kayvon Thibodeaux suffered a sprained right MCL against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 2 of the preseason, and head coach Brian Daboll said Monday that the rookie pass rusher remains “day to day” ahead of their matchup against the Tennessee Titans on Sept. 11.
Sept. 5, 12 p.m.
Backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor is “good to go” for Week 1, according to Brian Daboll. Taylor left the Giants’ final preseason game against the Jets after being hit by Jets defensive lineman Michael Clemons and struggled to get up off the ground.
In addition, Daboll said that linebackers Kayvon Thibodeaux (knee) and Azeez Ojulari (calf) are “day to day” and would not go into detail on what the two have been doing outside of rehabbing.
Sept. 1, 12 p.m.
Wide receiver Kadarius Toney is expected to play Week 1, at least that’s what the team is planning for.
During Thursday’s news conference, Giants head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen met with the media to field questions about the team and when Toney’s status for the regular season was brought up, they were optimistic about the first-round pick getting on the field soon.
“We plan on [Toney] being ready Sept. 11,” Schoen said.
