After the Buccaneers’ wild card loss to the Cowboys, there was an air of finality to Tom Brady’s press conference. Brady thanked reporters for riding out the season with him, but declined to provide any kind of definitive answer about his future (unsurprisingly).
In spite of that, however, some people close to Brady aren’t ruling out a return to Tampa for a fourth ride.
In spite of rumors connecting Brady to the Las Vegas Raiders, Rob Gronkowski doesn’t see that as a likely scenario.
Gronk was asked by NSPN, a local Tampa station, if Brady has a better shot of playing for the Raiders or the Bucs next year. Gronkowski made no bones about where Brady would likely end up.

“He’s been there now for three years,” Gronkowski said. “It’s just such a great organization. They’ve got such great people in the front office. So if I were to take a guess right now over those two I would have to say Tampa Bay Buccaneers.”
Gronkowski played two seasons in Tampa with Brady, catching 100 passes for 1,425 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Despite a disappointing season relative to their expectations this year, Brady and the Buccaneers were beat up by injuries all year and still managed to win the NFC South. Running it back isn’t completely out of the question.
With that being said, Brady has confirmed nothing, and has gotten frustrated recently when asked about his NFL future. So it’s likely Gronkowski knows as much as anyone else, which is to say, nothing. Any insight into Brady’s thinking is useful right now, but this is just the beginning of a long offseason for Brady to make his decision, whether it’s remaining in Tampa, retiring, or playing elsewhere in 2023.
