The Tennessee Titans have “an open mind with the first pick” in the 2025 NFL Draft, according to a report Sunday by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
“All options are on the table, including possibly trading the pick, and the Titans are expected to receive calls from other teams,” Rapoport wrote.
The Giants have the third pick and are in the market for a quarterback. Mock drafts link New York to Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders and Miami’s Cam Ward.
SNY’s Connor Hughes debuted his first mock draft Jan. 10, and he projected the Giants to trade up with the Cleveland Browns at No. 2 overall for Sanders.
“General manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll are on notice,” Hughes wrote. “Co-owner John Mara made that abundantly clear during his postseason meeting with the media. He also stressed the need to get a franchise quarterback. The only way to guarantee that: Trade up.”
In a Jan. 15 mailbag, Hughes fielded questions on the Giants’ quarterback approach, including Sanders versus Ward.
“The talk around league circles has been Sanders,” Hughes wrote in response to a fan’s inquiry about the preference and if Schoen would trade up. “It’s been that way since before the season ended. The Giants actually had a completed report on Sanders ready if he declared for last year’s draft. He would have been a target in the second or third round.
“… Mara also made it clear the top priority for the Giants is finding their franchise quarterback.
“That tells me the Giants are going to do everything they can to go up and get their quarterback. The biggest question, as addressed above, is if the Titans or Browns are willing to move back.”
