The Tennessee Titans are reportedly hiring Mike Borgonzi as the franchise’s newest general manager, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Borgonzi, who was one of six candidates the Titans met with twice, replaces Ran Carthon, who was fired last week after two seasons in charge.
Borgonzi has been with the Kansas City Chiefs in various roles since 2009 and has served as the team’s assistant GM since 2021. He also worked in college and pro scouting, as well as player personnel and football operations roles within the organization.
After Carthon’s dismissal, owner Amy Adams Strunk said that president of football operations Chad Brinker would lead the search for the next GM and that head coach Brian Callahan will remain with the team.
Brinker will also be the “final authority on all football matters,” not the new GM, though Borgonzi will be the lead when it comes to free agency and the draft.
Leading the franchise’s draft-day decision making will be important in 2025 with the Titans, who went 3-14 this past season, holding the No. 1 overall selection.
