It was a special year for women’s amateur golfers.
When it came to selecting Golfweek‘s Feale Amateur of the Year, there were plenty of candidates to choose from, but one stood out among the rest. This player had a breakout win this spring, one that propelled her to the forefront of the amateur golf world.
The 2024 Golfweek Award winner for Female Amateur of the Year goes to …
Winner: Lottie Woad
Woad stormed from behind to win the Augusta National Women’s Amateur in April. She then won the Smyth Salver as low amateur at the AIG Women’s Open and has been the top-ranked amateur in the world most of the year. She also represented Great Britain and Ireland on their victorious Curtis Cup team at Sunningdale.
Honorable mention: Ingrid Lindblad
The Annika Award winner for college player of the year, Lindblad wrapped up her amateur career as one of the best and consistent collegiate players of all time.
Honorable mention: Rianne Malixi
Malixi was dominant this summer. In a span of three weeks, she won the U.S. Girls’ Junior in California before capturing the U.S. Women’s Amateur in Oklahoma.
Honorable mention: Asterisk Talley
Talley emerged as a star, winning the U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball, finishing runner-up at the U.S. Girls’ Junior and the U.S. Women’s Amateur and playing on the U.S. Curtis Cup team.
