Bernhard Langer, the all-time leading winner on the PGA Tour Champions, will return to the Galleri Classic in Rancho Mirage next month. Langer missed the desert tournament last year with an injury.
The 67-year-old Langer, the winner of 47 PGA Tour Champions event, is among the latest group of commitments to the third annual Galleri Classic presented by Spotlight 29 Casino at Mission Hills Country Club’s Dinah Shore Tournament Course.
Another World Golf Hall of Famer, Colin Montgomerie, will also return to the tournament as will Galleri Classic newcomer Stewart Cink and PGA Tour Champions star Miguel Angel Jimenez.
The Galleri Classic, named after title sponsor Grail’s multi-cancer early detection test, will feature 78 PGA Tour Champions golf professionals, including World Golf Hall of Fame members, playing 54 holes (three rounds) of stroke play for a $2.2 million purse. Already committed to the field are defending champion Retief Goosen, 2023 winner David Toms, 2024 PGA Tour Champions player of the year Steven Alker and 18-time PGA Tour Champions winner Steve Stricker.
The Galleri Classic will be played March 28-30, preceded by pro-am days on March 26 and 27. Tickets and pro-am berths, as well as volunteer registration, are available at the tournament’s official website, www.TheGalleriClassic.com.
“The Galleri Classic Presented by Spotlight 29 Casino is thrilled to gain the commitments of the PGA Tour Champions’ most accomplished golfer of all time in Bernhard Langer, three of Europe’s winningest golfers and Stewart Cink, who is set to make his Galleri Classic debut just a short time removed from having a two-win PGA Tour season,” said Michelle DeLancy, tournament director of The Galleri Classic. “This fantastic foursome really bolsters the strength and depth of our emerging field.”
Langer missed the spring months of the 2024 season with an Achilles’ tendon injury but came back in the middle of the season and won the year-end Charles Schwab Cup Championship, his only win of the season. He did have eight top-10 finishes in 16 starts.
Cink, an eight-time PGA Tour winner, has made a full-time commitment to play on the PGA Tour Champions in 2025. Cink was eligible to play in the Galleri Classic last year after turning 50 but decided to play exclusively on the PGA Tour. Four years ago, Cink became the fourth golfer age 47 or older to win multiple events in a PGA Tour season since 1960.
Montgomerie is fourth on the DP World Tour’s all-time wins list with 31 and won eight Order of Merit titles on that tour. He was also known as one of the strongest Ryder Cup players for Europe in his career. Montgomerie has two senior major titles.
Jimenez holds 14 PGA Tour Champions titles – tied for fourth-most among active players – and the Spaniard already has one win in the 2025 season at the Trophy Hassan II in Morocco.
The Galleri Classic continues its partnership with six cancer-related, non-profit beneficiary organizations tied into the Coachella Valley – American Cancer Society, The Desert Cancer Foundation, Eisenhower Health, Hanson House, Pendleton Foundation and Shay’s Warriors Life After Cancer.
The Galleri Classic features daily and weekly grounds tickets for $30 and $65, respectively, and clubhouse tickets (only for competition rounds March 28-30) for $75 per day and $150 for the week.
