Farmers Insurance Open leaderboard: Updates, highlights, how to watch PGA Tour event Round 1

The PGA Tour’s “West Coast Swing” continues this week with a stop at Torrey Pines Golf Club outside San Diego, California for the Farmers Insurance Open.

Previously known as the Buick Invitational, the Farmers Insurance Open is played at the renowned Torrey Pines Golf Course as part of the PGA Tour’s traditional “West Coast Swing. Last year’s event was won by France’s Matthieu Pavon, who beat out Denmark’s Nicolai Højgaard for his first PGA Tour victory.

The tournament will once again feature unique scheduling with the first round played on Wednesday and the final round set for a Saturday finish in an attempt to avoid the NFL’s AFC and NFC championship games on Sunday.

This year’s field features 10 major championship winners and six former tournament champions. Three of the world’s top 10 players, Collin Morikawa (No. 4), Hideki Matsuyama (No. 5) and Ludvig Åberg (No. 6), and 11 of the world’s top 30 players.
