Former Ohio State golfer Neal Shipley featured in Netflix documentary ‘Full Swing’

Former Ohio State golfer Neal Shipley has turned his 15 minutes of fame into a Netflix series. Sort of.

Shipley, whose sideways stare in Butler Cabin went viral after he finished as low amateur at the 2024 Masters, will appear on Season Three of the Netflix golf series “Full Swing,” which premiers Tuesday.

The documentary series follows professional golfers on and off the course, including Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy and Shipley, who turned pro in June after his finish as low amateur at the Masters and U.S. Open. The 24-year-old Pittsburgh native has conditional membership on the Korn Ferry Tour for 2025 after just missing out on earning his tour card in December. He has one top-10 finish in four KFT events, placing ninth at the Panama Championship.

“Full Swing” chronicles Shipley’s experience at the Masters, where he not only finished as low amateur and played the last two rounds with Tiger Woods, but also became a social media meme when he focused his attention to a side teleprompter without moving his head during the champions interview on CBS.
