Despite a largely rank-and-file field, there were several notable PGA Tour names who missed the cut at this week’s Sony Open in Hawaii at Waialae Country Club.
While the leaders are hovering around double-digits — Patrick Fishburn and Denny McCarthy are tied for the lead at 10 under, with eight other players at 8 under or better — the cutdown number for the Tour’s second event of the year came in at 3-under 137, with 76 players earning weekend tee times and a paycheck. Sunday’s winner will go home with $1.566 million of the $8.7 million purse and 500 FedEx Cup points.
Here’s a look at 10 Tour stars who are leaving paradise a few days early.
