The top three on the PGA Tour money list remained unchanged after the WM Phoenix Open on Feb. 9.
But Thomas Detry, the winner at the TPC Scottsdale, shot up the list with a winner’s check of $1,656,000.
On Super Bowl Sunday, Detry birdied the last four holes to win by a touchdown (seven shots) for his first PGA Tour title, the first by a native of Belgium and the fifth victory by an international player in the first six weeks on Tour.
Detry went from 20th on the money list to fourth with $2,601,885. He also became the 20th player this season to pass $1 million in earnings.
The two players who tied for second in the Phoenix Open, Daniel Berger and Michael Kim, also made big moves up the money list. Both earned $818,800. Berger shot from 117th to 23rd and now has $902,070 and Kim went from 152nd to 25th, and has $846,036.
Hideki Matsuyama remains the leader
Hideki Matsuyama tied for 25th at Phoenix and with $69,198 remained first on the money list with $3,902,552. No. 2 Rory McIlroy did not play and Sepp Straka, who finished 15th and earned $167,900, stayed in third.
That means Matsuyama will remain the money leader entering a tournament for the sixth week in a row. He and most of the top players will be at the Torrey Pines Golf Club for the second time in four weeks beginning on Thursday for the Genesis Invitational, hosted by Tiger Woods.
Woods is making his first appearance of the 2025 season at a course where he’s won eight times: seven in the Farmers Insurance Open and at the 2008 U.S. Open.
