Players Championship tee times: Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Xander Schauffele marquee group

The top three players on the World Golf Ranking will make up the marquee group in the first two rounds of The Players Championship, led by two-time defending champion and world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler.

Scheffler, No. 2 Rory McIlroy and No. 3 Xander Schauffele will tee off the first hole of the Players Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass on Thursday at 1:29 p.m., then No. 10 on Friday at 8:24 a.m. Scheffler won The Players in 2023 and 2024 and McIlroy won the tournament in 2019.

The best wave of tee times will be on Thursday morning off the 10th tee.

It starts at 8:13 a.m. with 2023 British Open champion Brian Harman of St. Simons Island, Ga., Maverick McNealy and Tony Finau. In order after that, 11 minutes part, are world No. 5 Ludvig Åberg, No. 6 Hideki Matsuyama and No. 9 Justin Thomas; Arnold Palmer Invitational winner Russell Henley, past Open champion Shane Lowry and 2023 FedEx Cup champion Viktor Hovland; past major champions Wyndham Clark, Jason Day and Jordan Spieth; and 2025 winners Sepp Straka (also the FedEx Cup points later), Thomas Detry and Nick Taylor.

Thomas and Day are also past Players champions.
