St. Simons Island, Georgia – The Georgia Section of the PGA of America is excited to announce the South Chapter Georgia PGA Play Yellow Birdie Bash, a thrilling golf event set to take place on Tuesday, September 24th at Frederica Golf Club (100 Pike’s Bluff Dr, St Simons Island, GA 31522). This unique tournament is an opportunity for PGA of America Professionals to make a positive impact beyond the golf course.
Commencing with an 8 AM shotgun start, 30 Georgia PGA of America Professionals will play 72 holes in a two man team scramble format. Their goal is to make as many birdies as possible with the collective objective of raising $75,000 for PGA REACH Georgia (previously known as the Georgia PGA Foundation) and local South Georgia children’s hospitals.
Prior to the event, teams will solicit donation pledges per birdie they anticipate to achieve throughout the day from family, friends, members, and golf enthusiasts alike.
All proceeds from the event will benefit PGA REACH Georgia and select children’s hospitals in South Georgia- Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, Bill and Olivia Amos Children’s Hospital at Piedmont Columbus Regional, Atrium Health Levine Children’s Beverly Knight Olson Children’s Hospital, Dwaine & Cynthia Willett Children’s Hospital Of Savannah.
