If you’re daydreaming about green grass and being out on the golf course again, this New Hampshire course might be the one to picture yourself on, according to Golfweek.
Golfweek just released its top 200 best resort golf courses for 2025, and one New Hampshire course ranked in the top 150 of the list: Omni Mount Washington Resort’s Mount Washington course.
The course, which opened in 1915, ranked at No. 138.
“This list focuses on the golf courses themselves, not the resorts as a whole or other amenities,” Golfweek said.
To make the list, more than 800 raters rank the courses on a 10 criteria on a 10 point scale. It’s a rigurous process, and Golfweek says there are no perfect 10s.
“Only eight courses around the world with enough qualifying votes to appear on our top lists in 2024 are rated above a 9. An average rating above 8 indicates an incredible golf course. Anything above a 7 is worth traveling great distances to experience,” they said. “Courses with an average rating of 6 to 7 are probably the best course in most cities and in several examples are the top layout in an entire state.”
Omni Mount Washington Resort — Best resort golf course in New Hampshire
The Omni Mount Washington Resort, 310 Mount Washington Hotel Rd., received an average rating of 6.19. It’s the third highest rated course in New England.
“The 18-hole Mount Washington Course was designed by legendary Scottish Architect Donald Ross and was completed in 1915,” the Omni website said. “This Par 72, 7,004-yard-course has hosted four New Hampshire Opens and the prestigious New England Open Championship in September 2010.”
It tied with the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail in Alabama.
