PALM BEACH GARDENS — Tiger Woods gave no hint as to when he will return to the PGA Tour, including if he might enter the Cognizant Classic in the Palm Beaches, saying he hasn’t “thought about golf” after his Tuesday TGL match.
“I really haven’t thought about golf,” Woods, the Jupiter Island resident, said when asked if he could add Cognizant to his PGA Tour schedule.
“I don’t think I’m going to be thinking about it for just a little bit here.”
Woods withdrew from last week’s Genesis Invitational after his mom, Kultida Woods, died Feb. 4. During Sunday’s broadcast of the final round, he said he was looking to “play more” in 2025 and the speculation is he wants to play twice before the Masters, which is April 10-13.

Woods would have options including The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, March 13-16. He could play Cognizant and The Players with a week off between the two events.
The deadline to enter next week’s Cognizant is Friday at 5 p.m.
Woods is eligible for Players by virtue of his 2019 Masters victory.
Tiger Woods has seen limited action recently on PGA Tour
Other than the majors, Woods has made no mention of playing in any other events.
Woods, who played his third TGL match Tuesday night, has played once competitively, other than TGL, since missing the cut at last year’s British Open. He played in five events in 2024, finishing one, the Masters, where he placed 60th. He withdrew from Genesis because of illness and missed the cut at the PGA Championship, U.S. Open and British Open.
Woods has played in the Cognizant Classic five times, the last 2018 when he finished 12th in what was then the Honda Classic. His best finish a T2 in 2012, two shots behind Rory McIlroy, who now is his partner in TGL.
