The Chicago Blackhawks have a great prospect group that is on the way including Nick Lardis who is playing in the OHL this season.
Lardis is a third-round pick from the 2023 NHL Entry Draft and the 19-year-old is dominating in his fourth and final season in the OHL. He scored 29 goals and 50 points in the season after being drafted by the Blackhawks and was able to play one game in the AHL. He was sent back to the OHL for one final season in which he is leading the league in goals.
Lardis, playing for the Brantford Bulldogs, was the first player to reach 40 goals in the league filled with talent and he now sits at 41 goals and 72 points in 44 games. He is also tied for the league lead in power-play goals with 14 and is fourth in the OHL in points.
He and a number of other prospects are the reason why general manager Kyle Davidson isn’t worried about the future of the Blackhawks and that they are right where he wants them to be in terms of development.
Lardis is going to make the jump to pro next season and Chicago will have a good look at him in training camp. Who knows, if he continues to score like he has proven he can, the Blackhawks will be using him as a regular sooner rather than later. The team definitely needs more scoring.
