Columbus Blue Jackets’ Zach Werenski has reached a new level this season.

Werenski was already considered to be a star defenseman in the NHL. However, with how he is dominating the NHL this season, he is heading for superstar status.
This season, he has 13 goals and 35 assists for 48 points in 42 games, which puts him one point behind Cale Makar (49) for second in points among NHL defensemen.
Werenski is also a two-time NHL All-Star. He was named as a member of Team USA in the 4 Nations Face-Off tournament in February.

The rest of the Blue Jackets’ blue line has followed in Werenski’s footsteps this season.
The team leads the league in goals by defensemen and ranks second in points, third in point percentage, and fourth in assists and goal percentage, with 28-83-111, 19.4% of the club’s goals, and 28.6% of the team’s points in 42 contests.
Overall, Werenski has been great this season and has truly stepped up as a leader on and off the ice. It has shown on the scoresheet, as he continues to dominate the NHL on a nightly basis.
