Vancouver Canucks prospect Aatu Räty has been named the AHL Player of the Week for the period ending January 19, 2025. In four games, the Abbotsford Canucks center recorded seven assists and nine points as he helped his team pull off four consecutive wins. Abbotsford is currently on a six-game winning streak and has scored at least five goals in three of their previous four games.

Räty is currently thriving in the AHL. He has 20 points in 21 games, while his 2.43 shots per game is the highest of his AHL career. Räty may also set a new career high for points in a month, as his 11 is just two back of the 13 he recorded back in March 2024.
Based on his recent play, it would not be surprising if Räty earned another call-up this season. He was one of the Canucks most impressive players during training camp and has already played 20 games in the NHL this season. Over his career, Räty has played 35 NHL games, compared to 147 at the AHL level.
As for Abbotsford, their next game is scheduled for January 24 against the Tucson Roadrunners. If Räty can find the scoresheet once again, it will be the 100th point of his AHL career. Puck drop is scheduled for 6:00 pm PT from the Tucson Convention Center Arena.
