The Colorado Avalanche have loaned forward William Dufour to the Colorado Eagles, it was announced Friday.
Dufour, who was recently acquired by the Avalanche alongside Brock Nelson, has spent the entire 2024-25 season in the AHL, collecting eight goals and 10 assists for 18 points in 45 games with the Bridgeport Islanders.
Drafted by the New York Islanders in the fifth round of the 2020 NHL Draft, Dufour has appeared in one career NHL game with the Islanders, coming back in 2022-23. Across 169 career AHL regular season games, Dufour scored 44 goals and added 47 assists for 91 points.
With Dufour being acquired by the Avalanche, they must be intrigued that he can serve in an NHL role at some point in his career. A former 56 goal scorer at the junior level, Dufour has the skills needed to make an offensive impact and could perhaps unlock more of that in a new setting with Colorado.
