Colton Dach is set to make his NHL debut on Friday night at United Center against the Montreal Canadiens. The announcement of his call-up became official on Thursday and now he’s ready for that big moment.
The exciting aspect for Colton is that his brother Kirby Dach is on the Montreal Canadiens so he will make his NHL debut against his big brother.
Of course, Kirby Dach was the third overall pick by the Blackhawks in the 2019 NHL Draft but he was traded away as a part of the rebuilding process.
When asked about playing against his brother and it potentially getting chippy, he had a funny response about his mom wanting them to “keep it family-friendly”.

Their mom and sister will not be in attendance but their father will be in attendance to see the two brothers face off for the first time. For Colton Dach, this is about as special as it can get for a guy making his NHL debut.
Kirby is feeling good from a hockey point of view as he was the number-one star in Montreal’s most recent game. After being down 2-0 against the Pacific Division-leading Vegas Golden Knights, he scored the game-winner in their 3-2 comeback.
Younger brother Colton is looking to keep doing what made him successful this season in the AHL which is being a physical power forward that brings some scoring to the table.
The Hawks need this kind of spark as they have been blown out in three straight games including Tuesday’s loss to the St. Louis Blues in the Winter Classic. Only time will tell if the Dach brothers can live up to their mom’s “family-friendly” wishes.
