The Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled forward Luca Del Bel Belluz from the Cleveland Monsters, it was announced Wednesday.
Del Bel Belluz, who was selected by the Blue Jackets in the second round of the 2022 NHL Draft, is currently leading the AHL in points. Through 34 games, he has scored 17 goals and added 20 assists for 37 points.
Since turning pro last season, Del Bel Belluz has shown an ability to adapt quickly to both the NHL and AHL level. In his lone NHL game at the end of last year, he scored his first NHL goal while accumulating 68 points in 92 career AHL games.
With Del Bel Belluz playing so well, this recall by Columbus might be one where he sticks with the team for the rest of the season. He has showcased his puck skills that allowed him to be successful in junior and he is an important piece as the Blue Jackets look to get back into contention.
