The Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled forward Mikael Pyyhtia from the Cleveland Monsters, it was announced Sunday.
Pyyhtia, who was drafted by the Blue Jackets in the fourth round of the 2020 NHL Draft, has seen time in both the AHL and NHL this season. In four games with the Monsters, he has collected five points while putting up a goal in 17 games with Columbus.
Having made the trek over the North America at the end of the 2022-23 season, Pyyhtia has played in a total of 36 NHL regular season games, putting up a goal and three assists.
As someone who has shown to be an offensive driver at the AHL level, Pyyhtia gets another well deserved recall. Although he has spent his fair share of time in the AHL since coming overseas, Pyyhtia looks like someone who will stick with the Blue Jackets sooner than later.
