The Edmonton Oilers have loaned newly-acquired forward Max Jones to their AHL affiliate Bakersfield Condors, per AHL Transactions.
Jones was acquired earlier today in a deal with the Boston Bruins that also sent Trent Frederic to the Oilers.
The 27-year-old went pointless in seven NHL game with the Bruins this season and had 13 goals and 21 points in 38 games with the AHL’s Providence Bruins.
Originally a first round pick of the Anaheim Ducks in 2016, Jones has 31 goals and 62 points in 262 career NHL games with the Ducks and Bruins.
The Rochester, Mich., native has 29 goals and 52 point sin 89 career AHL games.
It remains to be seen whether Jones plays the remainder of the season in the AHL or NHL but as long as he is with Bakersfield he should help provide a boost for team as they have had trouble scoring goals this season.
