Game Summary
The Predators opened the scoring with a one-timer on the power play from Stamkos low in the zone while Ilya Mikheyev served a delay of game penalty.
Later in the period, Nick Foligno appeared to score the tying goal for Chicago, but the officials immediately waved the goal off due to goaltender interference. Chicago challenged the ruling, but the challenge was unsuccessful, giving the Predators a two-minute power play for delay of game. Nashville did not register a shot on goal during the man advantage.
Connor Bedard finally got the Blackhawks on the board at 6:30 of the second period, taking a centering pass from Tyler Bertuzzi and tucking a wrist shot over Saros’ left pad. About a minute and a half later, an odd bounce off the wall landed on the stick of Saros, who ended up carrying the puck into his own net. Alec Martinez was credited with the goal to give the Blackhawks their first lead of the game.
Forsberg scored on a slap shot from the right circle on the rush that beat Soderblom on the blocker side to make it 2-2 and send the game to overtime.
