Former Sabres Defender Lands Big Extension

Former Buffalo Sabres defenseman Brayden McNabb has signed a three-year, $10.95 million contract extension. Starting next season, the left-shot defenseman will have a $3.65 million cap hit.

McNabb, 33, began his NHL career as a member of the Sabres. Buffalo selected the 6-foot-4 defenseman with the 66th overall pick of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

McNabb played two seasons with the Sabres, where he had one goal, eight points, and 74 hits in 37 games. His time with the Sabres ended when he was traded to the Los Angeles Kings during the 2013-14 campaign.

After three seasons with the Kings, McNabb joined the Golden Knights during their inaugural season (2017-18) and has been a vital part of their blueline since. In 519 games over eight seasons with Vegas so far, he has 22 goals, 111 points, and a plus-106 rating.
