The Vegas Golden Knights have placed Ivan Barbashev on the injured reserve, retroactive to Dec. 16 and have recalled Tanner Laczynski from the Henderson Silver Knights.
Barbashev suffered an upper-body injury back on Dec. 15 against the Minnesota Wild when he got tangled up with Marcus Foligno and fell awkwardly. Since suffering the injury, the Golden Knights had been considering him day-to-day, but the 29-year-old hasn’t skated since the injury and according to head coach Bruce Cassidy, the Golden Knights may be dealing with another injury up front outside of Barbashev and Nicolas Roy.

Lacyznski was called up and participated in practice as an extra, but as things currently stand, he’ll be in the press box tonight. Cassidy was hesitant to elaborate on the status of the player possibly dealing with something that could keep him out of the lineup due to the uncertainty.
Cassidy says Laczynski was called up because there’s one forward they aren’t sure about. Didn’t want to elaborate in case it’s nothing.
Nic Roy skated this morning on his own, Ivan Barbashev did not. Both are working on their own and there won’t be much of an update they rejoin…

The 27-year-old played five consecutive games with the Golden Knights before the Christmas break but was sent down before the New Year’s Eve game for Jonas Rondbjerg.
The Golden Knights are looking to get back in the win column against the Philadelphia Flyers after suffering a third-period collapse against the Montreal Canadiens. Without Barbashev and Roy, the team will need to continue to get contributions from up and down the lineup.
