The Vegas Golden Knights have traded winger Grigori Denisenko to the Nashville Predators for future considerations.
The Golden Knights acquired Denisenko for the Florida Panthers when they claimed him off of waivers. The 24-year-old spent the previous two seasons playing with the Henderson Silver Knights and occasionally filling in when the Golden Knights dealt with injuries.
He failed to record a point in the seven NHL games he played with the Golden Knights and has zero goals and seven assists in 33 career games.
His first season with the Silver Knights was encouraging, recording 20 goals and 56 points in 65 games. The 2024-25 campaign hasn’t been as favourable, scoring just 10 goals and 24 points in 42 games.
He’ll be joining a Predators team that entered the season with high hopes but have failed to string any positive stretch of games. The Predators have promoted many of their young prospects but have also traded some of their young players as well. Denisenko will have a large role with their AHL affiliate, the Milwaukee Admirals, and could fight for an NHL spot if his play proves he is capable enough for the role.
