The Rangers landed their second big-name winger ahead of the NHL trade deadline, trading for Blackhawks star Patrick Kane on Tuesday. There were rumors and reports about a deal sending Kane to New York for over a week, but it finally came to fruition.
Kane, 34, skated in 54 games this season with Chicago. He registered 16 goals and 29 assists, good for 45 points which ranked second on the team behind only Max Domi.
The Rangers play their first game following the trade on Wednesday against the Flyers. Will Kane be available to play? Here’s the latest on his status.

Patrick Kane will make his Rangers debut at MSG on Thursday. With travel logistics, Chris Drury said the Rangers felt it best to let him come to New York, get situated, and play Thursday rather than making his debut in Philadelphia tomorrow.

Initially, Frank Seravalli of DailyFaceoff speculated that Kane could make his debut in Philadelphia on Wednesday.

The Rangers aren’t rushing Kane onto the ice. Instead, choosing a home crowd on Thursday for his debut.
