The Winnipeg Jets drop their final game of 2024 to the Colorado Avalanche, losing 5-2.
Eric Comrie stopped 33 of the 36 shots the Avalanche threw his way, but it wasn’t enough to beat the MacKenzie Blackwood and the Avalanche. The Jets could only muster 23 shots, and Blackwood turned away 21 of those shots.

Arturri Lehkonen tipped in a point shot to open the scoring in the game. Josh Manson and Samuel Girard picked up the assists on Lehkonen’s 14th goal of the season.
The first period concluded with the Avalanche up 1-0 and outshooting the Jets 14-10.
Rasmus Kupari scored his first in 20 games as he drove to the back post and tapped in a great feed by Morgan Barron.
Devon Toews regained the Avalanches lead after they had the Jets buried in their own end for an extended period of time.
Gabriel Vilardi nodded things at two as he outmuscled an Avalanche defender to pot his 18th of the season.
The Jets were outshot once again in the second period; 10-7, but entered the third period tied.
Casey Mittelstadt helped the Avalanche take the lead for the third time in the game with his eighth of the season.
Mikko Rantanen and Ross Colton added empty netters to secure the two points for the Avalanche.
