The defending Stanley Cup champions take center stage on Wednesday, as the Avalanche face the Maple Leafs.
Colorado enters play on Wednesday with 80 points, good for third in the Central behind Dallas and Minnesota. The Avalanche have won three out of its last four games, and are coming off an 8-4 thumping of the Canadiens on Monday.
The Maple Leafs continue to be locked into the second spot in the Atlantic Division, sitting well behind the Bruins in the division. Toronto is looking to bounce back after losing 4-3 at home to the Sabres.

There will be plenty of star power at Scotiabank Arena, between Auston Matthews, Nathan MacKinnon, Mitch Marner and Cale Makar. However, both teams have key pieces still missing.
Gabriel Landeskog has yet to suit for the Avalanche at all this season as he continues his recovery from offseason surgery. On the other side, Ryan O’Reilly remains sidelined with his broken hand.
After the Leafs-Avs is a Central Division battle between the Wild and Blues.
Minnesota is currently in second in the division with 84 points. The Wild have been red-hot as of late, riding a 13-game point streak going into Wednesday. However, they continue to be without star forward Kirill Kaprizov, who is working his way back from a lower-body injury.
Meanwhile, the Blues sit outside of the playoff picture and are 3-5-2 in their last 10 contests.
