The Rangers keep making trades before the 2025 NHL trade deadline, and have acquired defenseman Carson Soucy from the Vancouver Canucks.
New York will send the Canucks the third-round pick they acquired in the Reilly Smith trade earlier Thursday, per multiple reports.
Soucy, 30, has played in 59 games this season, scoring 10 points (three goals, seven assists) for the Canucks. He’s also a minus-13 on the ice this season.
The Canadian native is in the midst of his seventh season in the NHL. After starting with the Minnesota Wild, he made a stop in Seattle to play with the Kraken for a couple of seasons before playing with the Canucks the past two years.
Soucy has played in 349 games in his career, and has scored 26 goals and posted 58 assists (84 points). He’s also a career plus-58 on the ice.
