ESPN analyst Emily Kaplan reported on the Unsportsmanlike podcast that Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Shea Theodore has a broken wrist.
In the 4 Nations Face-Off opener, Theodore was forced to exit the game against Sweden after being on the receiving end of an Adrian Kempe hit. Following the game, Team Canada HC Jon Cooper announced that Theodore would be out for the remainder of the tournament and later on, the Golden Knights announced that Theodore would be out week-to-week with an upper-body injury.
Kaplan is the first to report the specifics of the injury as at the moment, the Golden Knights have only stated that the 29-year-old is suffering from a UBI.

When Theodore was exiting the game, he was clutching at the area around his wrist, indicating that an injury to his wrist could have been sustained, but no confirmation was given until Kaplan’s report.
Some reports have mentioned that Theodore may not be able to return to action until the playoffs, which would be a major blow to the Golden Knights. They are currently in the midst of a fight for first place in the Pacific Division with the Edmonton Oilers, and Theodore has been their best defenseman this season.
They could take advantage of his injury and cap space if he’s placed on the long-term injury reserve, but finding a defenseman of Theodore’s calibre on the trade market is near impossible.
