San Diego Gulls forward Yegor Sidorov has been named AHL Player of the Week, it was announced Monday.
A 2023 third round selection of the Anaheim Ducks, Sidorov posted three goals and three assists through two games.
In the Gulls game against the Henderson Silver Knights Wednesday, Sidorov scored two goals and collected an assist in a 5-4 victory. His assist ended up being on the goal that was the game winner.
In the Gulls’ matchup Saturday against the San Jose Barracuda, Sidorov scored a goal and added two assists to help propel the Gulls to a 5-2 win. His tally extended his scoring streak to four games.
Over the course of 2024-25, Sidorov has compiled eight goals and nine assists for 17 points in 22 games, tying him for the team’s scoring lead.
Considering the fact that Sidorov is a rookie makes this accomplishment all the more impressive. It is said that the jump from juniors to the AHL level is more daunting than the jump from the AHL to the NHL. For Sidorov to not skip a beat shows his skillset and Ducks fans should be excited to see him suit up for the team in the not so distant future.
