ST. LOUIS — What else can be said about St. Louis Blues defenseman Cam Fowler that hasn’t already been said?
Fowler, acquired from the Anaheim Ducks on Dec. 14 for a pick and a prospect, continues to be a revelation for this hockey club.
The Blues are now 3-2-2 with Fowler in the lineup, but this guy just keeps getting better and better.
He picked up his first goal as a Blue and of the season tonight and added two assists, his first multi-point game since Feb. 15, 2024 with the Ducks against the Ottawa Senators (also had one goal, two assists), in a 7-4 win against the Nashville Predators, but Fowler, who also led the Blues with six of their 19 blocked shots and had four shots on goal, played 21:48.
His goal was one of four times for the Blues (17-16-4) built a two-goal lead in the contest. He took a Dylan Holloway pass, worked into the middle of the point and blasted a slap shot off the inside of the near post and in to make it a 4-2 game at 18:05 of the first period:
“I’ve felt so supported since I’ve been here, (from) the crowd and the organization,” Fowler said. “I’m grateful for that. Always nice to get the first one out of the way. That was actually the first of the season too. You can kind of get the monkey off the back with the season and the team. Now it’s nice to put that behind me and keep moving forward.”
Since joining the Blues seven games ago, Fowler has a goal and four assists and is a plus-6; he’s a plus-6 the past two games.
