The Tampa Bay Lightning have recalled defenseman Max Crozier from the Syracuse Crunch, the team announced Thursday.
Drafted by the Lightning in the fourth round of the 2019 NHL Draft, Crozier has split time between the NHL and the AHL this season. While he hasn’t registered a point in three games with the Lightning, Crozier has put up three goals and nine points in 22 games for the Crunch.
Having turned pro at the end of the 2022-23 season, Crozier has appeared in 16 career NHL regular season games, accumulating two assists in the process. Before making the jump to the pro game, Crozier played four seasons with Providence (NCAA).
As Crozier heads back to the NHL, he could figure into the lineup for the Lightning Friday against the Blackhawks. The Lightning are currently holding onto the third place spot in the Atlantic but have many teams hot on their tail. Crozier could provide a spark for the team looking to bounce back after two straight losses.
