The Vancouver Canucks have assigned defenseman Victor Mancini to the Abbotsford Canucks, it was announced Saturday.
Mancini, who was recently acquired by the Canucks in the J.T. Miller trade, has seen time in both the NHL and AHL this season. In 15 games with the New York Rangers, he has collected one goal and five points while putting up 10 points in 23 games with the Hartford Wolf Pack.
Drafted by the Rangers in the fifth round of the 2022 NHL Draft, Mancini is in his first full season of pro hockey. Prior to making the jump, he played three seasons with Nebraska-Omaha (NCAA).
With Mancini being dealt to the Canucks, they clearly liked what they have seen from the 6-foot-3 defender. As someone who makes smart decisions with the puck, Mancini should see time with the Canucks in the near future.
