The Washington Capitals have loaned forward Hendrix Lapierre to the Hershey Bears, it was announced Sunday.
Lapierre, a product of Gatineau, Que., has spent the entire 2024-25 season with the Capitals, collecting eight assists in 27 games.
A 2020 first round pick of the Capitals, Lapierre has yet to spend an entire season in the NHL, splitting time last year between the NHL (22 points in 51 games) and AHL (17 points in 21 games). Over the course of 84 career NHL regular season games, Lapierre has put up 31 points.
As Lapierre heads to the AHL for the first time this year, he will have the opportunity to play a big role for the Bears. Although this is most likely not what he wished for, Lapierre will have the ability to play big minutes and earn his way back up to the big club.
