With his point in last night’s contest, Werenski has extended his home point streak to 19 games. This makes him the fifth defenseman in NHL history with a point streak of at least 19 games.
During that point streak, Werenski has scored 13 goals and 23 assists for 36 points.
Werenski has also tied Quinn Hughes for the lead in points by a defenseman with 54.
He has forced his name into the Norris Trophy conversation and has proven that he should be considered one of the best blue liners in the NHL.
The Blue Jackets have a four-day break before returning to action on the road this Thursday against the Vegas Golden Knights. Their next home game is Thursday, Feb. 6, against the Utah Hockey Club, where Werenski will have a chance to extend his home point streak to 20 games.
