Happy New Year, Pittsburgh Penguins fans! 2025 is officially upon us, and that means resolutions for the new year are as well.
Most people have some kind of resolution – even the Penguins. So what should each Penguin resolve to accomplish or aspire to in 2025?
Noel Acciari: To turn back the clock and find the goal-scoring touch he found in the pre-season – as well as that offensive upside from Toronto.
Anthony Beauvillier: To prove that he can stick in someone’s top-six, Penguins or otherwise.
Michael Bunting: To clear 20 goals with flying colors and earn an extension this offseason.
Sidney Crosby: To get his team back to the playoffs and keep breaking Mario’s franchise records along the way.
In celebration of Sidney Crosby recently setting the new @penguins’ all-time assists mark, here is a graphic that visualizes the progressive leaders throughout franchise history!

Cody Glass: To keep on shooting the puck and hope that the hockey gods stop hating him.
Kevin Hayes: To bolster some of the details in his defensive game to give him a leg-up for a fourth-line role on this team.
Blake Lizotte: Like he asked Santa… to earn a permanent spot as the Penguins’ third-line center.
Evgeni Malkin: To score more goals and keep keeping things simple.
Matt Nieto: To stay healthy and play hockey for a full calendar year.
Drew O’Connor: To avoid another 32-game goal drought.
Rickard Rakell: To continue his good work to make sure Team Sweden doesn’t forget he exists for the Olympics in 2026.
Bryan Rust: To continue his good work to make sure Team USA doesn’t forget he exists for the Olympics in 2026.
Philip Tomasino: To find a real home in Pittsburgh.
Ryan Graves: To stay committed to defensive details and earn his way back into a regular role – as well as some trust from management and the coaching staff.
Matt Grzelcyk: To absolutely smash previous offensive career highs – which he’s already feeling pretty good about – to help rejuvenate his career as an offensive defenseman and power play specialist.
P.O Joseph: To prove to the Penguins that they were wrong for letting him go the first time around.
Erik Karlsson: To get back to nearly point-per-game numbers. It’s a heavy lift, but it’s not impossible for a generational offensive defenseman.
Kris Letang: To focus on the areas of strength in his game as he ages and not try to bite off more than he can chew nowadays.
Marcus Pettersson: To put his first half in the rearview and prove to the Penguins and everyone else that he is still a top-four defenseman worthy of a hefty extension.
Owen Pickering: To remain in Pittsburgh permanently and also find a lasting home on the top pairing next to Kris Letang.
Ryan Shea: To continue proving the worth of his versatility in order to keep a spot on the roster.
Tristan Jarry: To forget the start to his 2024-25 season ever happened and to be the guy that leads the Penguins into and through a playoff run.
Alex Nedeljkovic: To ride recent momentum and earn a more elevated role on a team in need of goaltending help.
Mike Sullivan: To give younger guys a more extended look higher in the lineup as the team looks to the future.
Kyle Dubas: To stick to the plan, regardless of where this team finds itself at the trade deadline.
