Bubba Wallace is out of the NASCAR Phoenix race after slamming the wall.
On lap 267 of the scheduled 312 for Sunday’s Shriners Children’s 500 at Phoenix Raceway, Wallace appeared to have a brake issue and slap the outside wall in turn 1.
He was able to drive the car back to the garage but had heavy damage on the right side, including a flat front right tire.
“Didn’t have any sign until that last restart,” Wallace said to FS1 pit reporters. “Three or four laps in, the pedal traveled further than it had a little bit, so I turned on my fans, came back and that was it.”
Wallace is scored in the 28th position after the wreck.
