It’s OK to admit. You’ve been on a date, felt a little anxious and purchased an adult beverage to quell the nerves. It’s a tale as old as bars.
Well, now, the drink wants to return the favor.
Yes, Busch Light wants to help your love life, and at the Daytona 500, no less.
Introducing DATE-TONA.
The Anheuser-Busch brand is selecting eight single folks, matching them together through a compatibility questionnaire and dressing them in NASCAR fire suits for one high-speed lap around Daytona International Speedway ahead of Valentine’s Day weekend and the 2025 Daytona 500. The ride will span about 100 seconds.
Busch Light hopes the heart-pounding high banks at Daytona result in a connection.
After that initial speed-dating experience, the couples will attend the Daytona 500 together on Feb. 16, courtesy of the brewing company.
“We love a burnout in victory lane, but dating-app burnout is a real bummer,” Busch Light head of marketing Krystyn Stowe said in a news release. “So, when we learned that the majority of young adults are seeking (in-real-life) opportunities to find romance, we tapped our partners at NASCAR and created the high-octane speed dating experience that is DATE-TONA.
“Busch Light believes in the power of connecting over shared passions and cold beer, plus we’ve got a strong track record at helping our fans find love.”
In 2023, Busch Light hosted a pit-stop wedding for NASCAR fans Tory Lindsay and Nick Brendel during the South Point 400 Cup Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The vows lasted 10 seconds next to Kevin Harvick’s pit box.
To apply for DATE-TONA, fans can submit their applications at Busch.com/datetona. The deadline is Jan. 21.
