Daytona 500 qualifying results: Chase Briscoe will start Great American Race on pole

DAYTONA BEACH — Chase Briscoe made quite an impression during his first laps in the No. 19 car.

After taking over for the semi-retired Martin Truex Jr. in a Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota Camry, Briscoe became the 2025 Daytona 500 pole sitter Wednesday.

During the second and final qualifying round, he laid down the fastest lap. He averaged 182.745 miles per hour. That placed him ahead of runner-up Austin Cindric (182.463 mph).

So get used to Briscoe in that No. 19 machine. It will be the first Toyota in Great American Race history to lead the field to the starting line Sunday afternoon.

“Truthfully, they’ve done so much, it’s hard to do anything for the first time with Toyota,” Briscoe said. “So yeah, to be able to do it in my first race is super, super cool, super special. It means a lot to Toyota.”

Ford posted four of the five best times, as Ryan Preece, Joey Logano and Josh Berry rounded out the top five.

Outside of Briscoe and Cindric, the rest of the Daytona 500 lineup will be set after Thursday’s Duels.
