It’s not the final race of the NASCAR Cup Series regular season this year, but Saturday’s Coke Zero Sugar 400 still holds plenty of importance.
First, it takes place at historic Daytona International Speedway, where chaos thrives. Second, it remains vital for playoff positioning. Twelve drivers have clinch spots with victories in 2024, leaving four postseason openings available on points with two races to go.
The Wawa 250 Xfinity Series race set the stage Friday night. Tonight, the Coke Zero Sugar 400 is scheduled for 7:53 p.m., as long as inclement weather doesn’t get involved. Michael McDowell will start on the pole.
