If it’s Labor Day Weekend, it’s time to the Lady in Black and have her accessorize with some green, yellow and checkers.
This year and this year only — well, through at least 2025 anyway — Darlington’s historic Southern 500 brings a close to NASCAR’s 26-race regular season in the Cup Series. That scheduling slot returns to Daytona next year.
The Xfinity Series also races at Darlington this weekend and has four races remaining in its regular season.

You one of those hard-core race fans who craves the dirt track? You’re in luck, because Sunday night’s options include heavy stockers on the dirt. The ARCA Series runs the second of its two annual dirt-track races this week, on a 1-mile oval in the heartland.
Here’s the rundown …
Saturday: NASCAR practice, qualifying and Xfinity Series race at Darlington
12:35 p.m.: Cup Series practice at Darlington, USA Network.
1:20: Cup Series qualifying at Darlington, USA.
3:30: Xfinity Series’ Sport Clips 200 at Darlington, USA
Sunday: Oldest NASCAR classic, the Southern 500 at Darlington (and dirt-racin’ from ARCA)
6 p.m.: NASCAR Cup Series’ Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway, USA.
8:30: ARCA Series’ Southern Illinois 100 at the Duquoin Fairgrounds, Fox Sports 1 (FS1).
