Have you been enjoying these first two weeks of NASCAR action?
It’s been two straight weeks, opening the 2025 season, of high-speed, heavy-traffic action and all the drama and theatrics associated with it. And not just on Sundays, but also with the preliminary action from the Trucks and Xfinity Series, both at Daytona and Atlanta.
Been exciting, hasn’t it?
Well, it’s all over. For now, anyway.
This week delivers such a different animal, you might not recognize it. After two weeks of high-banked ovals (of a sort), the racers must adapt to a technical layout with 20 turns and, here and there, a few places where it pays to actually attempt a pass.
TWO-WHEEL ROOTS: It’s not just NASCAR for Leigh Diffey, who’s back for Daytona Supercross Saturday on NBC
Yes, it’s time for the latest episode of Austin City Limits in the Texas capital, on a different layout than NASCAR employed in previous visits to the Circuit of the Americas.
COTA can utilize a couple of different layouts, and this year, NASCAR is moving from the 3.4-mile course to one roughly a mile shorter but still with 20 turns, which should be interesting for viewers and a lot of work for the drivers.
