The Polestar 3 electric SUV was launched in two variants: The Long Range Dual-Motor model and the Long Range Dual Motor Performance. The former offers 315 miles of electric range while the spicier version has just 275 miles by comparison. Today, Polestar is announcing a third model for 2025 with even more range.
The new Polestar 3 Long Range Single Motor (or, LRDM for short) model delivers 350 miles of EPA-certified range in the US. It pairs a single motor on the rear axle with the SUV’s 111.0-kilowatt-hour battery pack. The Polestar 3 LRDM has the same 250-kilowatt DC fast-charging rate as its dual motor siblings.
Performance does take a small hit in the name of range. The Polestar 3 LRDM puts out just 299 horsepower and 361 pound-feet of torque to the Dual-Motor model’s 489 hp and the Performance trim’s 517 hp. Polestar doesn’t list things like a 0-60 mph time or a top speed for its newest trim.
Trim | Output | Range | Charging Rate |
Polestar 3 Long Range Single Motor | 299 HP / 361 LB-FT | 350 Miles | 250 Kilowatts DC |
Polestar 3 Long Range Dual Motor | 489 HP / 620 LB-FT | 315 Miles | 250 Kilowatts DC |
Polestar 3 Long Range Dual Motor Performance | 517 HP / 671 LB-FT | 279 Miles | 250 Kilowatts DC |
Polestar’s Pilot Assist active safety system still comes standard on the base 3 SUV. That includes equipment like lane-change assist and a 360-degree overhead camera.
Buyers can place their order for a new Polestar 3 LRDM with deliveries scheduled to take place in the next few weeks. The single-motor model will be the cheapest Polestar 3 of the group, starting at just $68,500.
Trim | Base Price |
Polestar 3 Long Range Single Motor | $68,500 |
Polestar 3 Long Range Dual Motor | $74,800 |
Polestar 3 Long Range Dual Motor Performance | $80,300 |
