Connor Zilisch navigated a rough start to the final stage and passed Carson Kvapil for the lead with less than 10 laps to go to win Saturday’s Focused Health 250 NASCAR Xfinity Series race at COTA.
Zilisch made contact with Corey Heim early in the final stage and picked up a tire rub, but managed that issue and eventually chased down Austin Hill and Kvapil to re-take the lead.
After several laps of following Kvapil, Zilisch finally made the pass for the lead. Kvapil eventually suffered a cut tire and finished 23rd.
Saturday’s win is Zilisch’s second career Xfinity Series victory.
