It was quite nervy for the majority of the game, but Inter Miami, without Lionel messi, avoided a first-leg scare against Jamaican side Cavalier in their Concacaf Champions Cup round-of-16 showdown.
Scorers: Allende 61′, Suárez 83′
It was never comfortable for Miami from the first whistle, despite their star-studded side lining up against a Cavalier bunch with no players above the age of 25 in the starting lineup.
The visitors from Jamaica perhaps have should have lead at halftime after hitting the post and seeing a stoppage-time goal chalked off for a questionable offside call, but Miami avoided the shock in the first 45 minutes.
SHOCK AT CHASE STADIUM!

But Miami grew into the game after the break and they finally found the back of the net just past the hour mark thanks to Tadeo Allende. The winter signing has made a name for himself in the first few weeks of the 2025 season.
The nerves inside of Chase Stadium were relieved when Luis Suárez fired home the second on the night to double Miami’s lead on aggregate.
Despite the two-goal deficit, Cavalier will take plenty of positivity from their first-leg showing back to a sold out stadium in Kingston next week.
